More about Jazzbo...

Jazzbo started DJing in Manchester at 18 and after a string of residencies there and a move to Liverpool he decided to start his own monthly event in the city centre called Souljackin. The night, held at Liverpool's most talked about underground music venue, the Dragon Bar, went from strength to strength with an ever-growing following. The recent closure of the bar has led to a new party venture, Leap (myspace.com/leapliverpool), that brings the best underground house and disco DJs from Liverpool together, along with the best guests in the game. As a co-promoter and resident at Leap Jazzbo brings the jack with deep grooves, sliced up jazz and disco infected Chicago house music. He also writes regular reviews and previews, and has a monthly residency with music website Plastic Soup at The Dispensary.

In 2007 Jazzbo was given the opportunity to perform at the Lake of Stars festival in Malawi where he played with MTV coverage alongside Gilles Peterson, Rodney P and Annie Mac as well as a whole host of other world class DJs and musicians from The UK and Africa. This year he will be making his way to Croatia for the Garden Festival, one of the most exciting music festivals in the world today, as well as revisiting Malawi for the Lake of Stars. So far in 2008 his gigs have included an extended set at Funkadelic (held at the Masque, home to the legendary Chibuku and Circus nights) and a guest slot at Brick Lane's famous 93 Feet East in London, along with weekly gigs at the best music venues across Liverpool. In March of this year he won the No:Audio DJ competition, and he played at an Ibiza opening party in June.

Jazzbo has recently set up a non-profit organisation called Sonic Boom, which aims to teach young unemployed and disadvantaged people how to mix, organise events and develop the necessary confidence to follow their passion for DJing, allowing him to use his creative skills constructively to help others.

In addition to DJ and promotion work he also produces house music and electronica, with several tracks being signed to new label Jak In The House, the first of which is due for release after the summer. Some of these productions can be heard on my myspace (myspace.com/jazzbo32)
