Birmingham Academy has fast become Birmingham's premier venue offering the best live events and club nights in the area and becoming a focal point for nightlife in the Midlands. For agents it has become the gig on the UK touring circuit, with music of all genres and artists from across the globe; Beck, Primal Scream, The Strokes, Dido, Basement Jaxx, The Hives and Iron Maiden to name but a few!
Subsequently Birmingham Academy has recently developed its second 600 capacity room with Birmingham Academy - "BA2", supporting up coming acts and local talent. Artists that now fill the Brixton Academy such as The Hives, The Strokes and Hundred Reasons have all played intimate sets in BA2 and gone on to great things.
The Academy is also home to popular club nights. Every Friday is Ramshackle, which has grown to become one of the largest clubs in the country catering for those who appreciate a broad mix of music from break beats and hip hop to funky classics and drum and bass, to indie and northern soul.
