RESISTOR RECORDS Presents

edIT
(planet mu, the glitch mob)
The Hare and Hounds
Kings Heath
Birmingham

A night of hyper intricate hip hop
9-1am
£3!!!!

Hailing from Los Angeles, Edward Ma has had a profound effect on the musical terrain of the city, especially in the realms of hip-hop. His own desires to see what the next levels of technology in the genre were manifested in the 2004 album 'crying over pros for no reason' album for PLANET MU.
Aside from albums a slew of remixes hit for the likes of DAEDALUS and PLUG RESEARCH. edIT garnered a lot of fame through his mash-ups of Top 40 radio jams by ridiculously cutting up a cappellas with hyper-glitch edits over original and popular hip-hop beats. The popularity of his mash-ups also led to a full-length mixtape commissioned by HEFTY RECORDS.
With a new single out dropping remixes from J-DILLA, PHAT KAT & DABRYE, the bombs keep dropping.

"A love of hip-hop and a desire to create what I hear to be hip-hop in the future. A fusion of complex cutup edits and rhythms mixed with catchy aggressive dancefloor hip-hop… We are just trying to make the music that we want to hear because no one else has made it for us."

Support on the night comes from local editing deviants SUBCITIZEN, TERRORBYTE and DR PEPPERSPRAY, dipping into their vast array of electronic wrongness on a distinctly hip hop vibe for a heady Thursday night throwdown!!
