Well guys i thought it'd be pretty cool to write a review from the point of view from Mez and I. Something a bit different eh?
After a pretty stressful time setting up (getting the set up's working in both of the rooms was a right pain!) the doors opened.

Helen was playing first in the Destination room so i didn't get to see much of her set, as i was playing the breaks upstairs, but i have been reliably informed that she absolutely smashed it. Dixon summed it up quite nicely. I asked him to use his cdj downstairs, and swap the CDJ's round from downstairs(when Helen was on) to the upstairs room. 5 min later back he comes carrying the same cdj, and the conversartion went a little like this.
" why havn't you swapped it mate?"
" She's banging it out mate, hammering the mix, cutting it up etc. There's not enough time to swap it between tunes."
"oh, sweet". Fair enough =D

So next up downstairs were our residents Dixon and Dempz (Double D) playing some brutal hardtrance and hard style. Now these boys really know how to smash a place up, and this they did. I had numerous comments on how tight the mixing was, and how it was nice to have some hardstyle played, so good work guys =)

Dawson was up next for an hour and a half, and once again didn't dissapoint. It was during this set that the utter wankers that the bouncers has let let in earlier left (we've had words with the management at OC's and rest assured this won't be happening again) , and the atmosphere got noticeably better, with Dawson set bringing people up nicely!

Wain Johnstone & Caz Wood were on next for another half hour set ( an hour really isn't enough eh?) Unfortunatly i was on the door for the majority of this set, but got time to catch some of it while going for a fag (having the outside smoking area is big bonus at oc's!), and it sounded awesome. Really uplifting tunes that got everyone stomping, again i had loads of comments on how good these two were, so thanks alot to you both!

Hoopz was the second of our residents to play downstairs, and as per usual the room totally went off! Awesome hard dance from start to finish, so if you havn't seen him play before make sure you come down on the 12th July for a mega special set ;)

I was up next playing some freeform madness with Smythy on the mic. It was alot of fun but by this time people has started to leave and the room was alot less busy. Mike's vocal scratching is sounding shit hot too =D

Nae was out final resident to play downstairs and played some wicked hard dance classics. I caught some of the set and it sounded really good, but was upstairs sorting some issues out for most of it.

The upstairs room was pretty banging throughtout the night aswell. I started of with some pretty sweet breaks, followed by Nae playing the classic trance set that was awesome.
Drussif unforntunatly couldn't make it so Shenton covered for him, playing some wicked tunes to get people going.

Next up were The Disc Junies. Two totally sound guys who played some fucking banging electro. I was on the door at this point so caught alot and it was a really good set, just a shame there wern't so many poeple in the room to appreieciate it!
Following these two was M-DB, playing some pretty sweet trance to finish off the room. I was downstairs again at this point but Mez said it was a spot on set =)

Obviously there can be improvements with any night, and Destination is no exception. The monitor speaker downstairs was a proper pain in the ass, but thankfully Wain got that sorted before it caused a major problem (nice one dude!). This will be sorted for the next event

The next issue we had (as i mentioned earlier) were several dick heads that were let into the club. I dont undertsand why people who clearly dont like the music would attend this event, and just cause shit. Thankfully they left fairly early on, which was a relief to all of us i think!

I must make it clear that having a party atmosphere is one of the most important things for me and Mez to have at Destination, and for this reason we have spoken to the management about the issue. We have been assured it won't happen again, and that if you guys see anybody hassling anyone/causing shit please inform me or Mez and they will be removed from the club. Wahheyy!

There were a couple of other technical problems with the CDJ's upstairs and stuff, but again we have been told this will be sorted in time for the July event, and have no reason to doubt this.

From what we have seen on DSI it seems you guys enjoyed the event and we hope we will see you all again in July =) As always, if you have suggestions etc for the next event send Myself or Mez a PM and we'll see what we can do =)

it was one of the best sets i've seen him play! right up there with closing Hard South at the end of 2007!

i'm so glad I made the trip up there with him for this! hopefully we'll be back up again soon!!

I think Matt has basically covered it there, we had a few issues that could have turned things sour but we got through it ok and i'm not about to bore you with details!

As Matt has said above we will be making a few changes in time for July, as Vaughan rightly pointed out the music upstairs was too loud and this will be rectified for next time! We will also be bringing in some decor to brighten the place up as it looked pretty tired and we will ensure that the sound system is on top form!

We did notice that the Freeform set in the main room didn't go down aswel as we may have hoped (despite the huge effort by Matt Damage and Smythy, top set boys!) so that will be replaced with some more banging hard trance and hard house, we will also be making a slight change to the opening hours!

All in all we had a really good night and from the sounds of it you guys did too which is the main thing as far as we are concerned! We have some exciting announcements to make about Julys event, so please keep checking back for more details!

yeah i relly enjoyed it...its the people that make the night and on this occasion the crowd were spot on...i think you've covered everything in your review and ya know where could be improved so not much more for me to say really apart from...ROLL ON JULY 12th!

if ya want some decor, maybe i could suggest giving "Jock-dreadster-Evlolve" a pm(if you havent already) we make OCs look fookin awsome! as i think i may have mentioned to you on the night. we usually do decor at "shine" n "hellbound" and from what people have said to me, we do a pretty good job. i love doing decor at OCs...theres just so much you can play around with and theres plenty of wallspace to experiment with.

there ya go an offer you cant refuse ............................ we was talking about making it look lush parachute spread across the ceiling ect ....................................... good choice its got lots to offer

Yeah we've been looking at parachute material on ebay so should get some stuff sorted, also some camo netting etc.
