Shenton is a massively talented NRG dj and producer from Walsall UK. He is renowned on the Birmingham circuit for playing the most aggresive form of NRG which proves to be a real crowd at the end of nights and after-partys

His mixing is unique and always completely flawless and has a loyal following with him wherever he plays. His style is a lot darker than most and with tracks like " Spitting Blood", "Cenobite" and "Extreme content" to put his name to shows that he is pushing his chosen sound to ears all over the country on a weekly basis.

What are your aims for this year both with yourself and hellbound?

IM PLANNING ON CONCENTRATING ON THE PRODUCTION SIDE OF THINGS THIS YEAR. IM SIGNED TO RAZOR RECORDINGS AND X-TENSION REOCORDS SO I HOPE TO GET SOME MORE OF MY STUFF OUT ON BOTH THESE LABELS. I'VE HAD A COUPLE OF TRACKS SIGNED TO NEET RECORDINGS ALSO, DEF A LABEL TO KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN FOR.. I WANT TO KEEP DOIN HELLBOUND AS A WAY OF KEEPING THE HARDER SIDE OF DANCE MUSIC ALIVE AND TO BASICALY JUST HAVE A PARTY.........

You are one of the most infamous NRG DJs on the circuit, how do you stay true to form and keeep your music a step above the rest?

WELL........I HAVE BEEN DJING 10 YEARS THIS YEAR AND I HAVE ALWAYS SWAYED TOWARDS THE HARDER DARKER SIDE OF MUSIC. WHEN I STARTED OUT I USED TO PLAY JUNGLE WHEN ALL MY MATES WERE PLAYING HOUSE MUSIC. I LIKE MUSIC WITH ATTITUDE... THATS HOW I LIKE TO PLAY. I MAKE CERTAIN TRACKS WHEN IM HAVING A SHIT TIME OF IT AND I WILL END UP MAKING SOME ANGRY LITTLE TRACK ie. SPITTING BLOOD. THEN WHEN IM PLAYING THE TRACKS OUT IT MEANS SOMETHING.

As we know you were one of the pioneers of the NRG sound that hit Birmingham a few years ago, since then many more dj's have followed the trend, in personal opinion is there any artists out there that are making an impression on you?

WELL THERE ARE PLENTY OF GOOD DJS OUT THERE BUT IM FUSSY GIT WHEN IT COMES TO MUSIC... MY FAVORITE DJ/PRODUCER HAS GOT TO BE LT1. I LOVE HIS AGGRESIVE STYLE. THEN THERES CRAIG LEE TOO HE'S A WICKED DJ AND HE'S STARTING TO DO SOME REALLY GOOD PRODUCTION OF HIS OWN. IVE BEEN DOING A COUPLE OF TRACKS WITH HIM RECENTLY AND HE'S REALLY IMPRESSED ME.

Several of your previous releases went in at the top spot on the banging tunes chart, have you got any new material coming out this year and is there anybody who you would like to be collaberating with?

WELL THERE IS 'CRUMPET' COMING OUT ON NEET RECORDINGS SOME TIME THIS YEAR AND I BELIEVE 'SPITTING BLOOD' WILL BE REALESED ON X-TENSION TO. I LIKE TO KEEP WHAT TRACKS I AM DOING TO MYSELF FOR A WHILE SO THAT I KNOW IM THE ONLY ONE PLAYING MY SOUND. I WILL DEF BE DOING STUFF WITH RIGGSY, LT1, CRAIG LEE THIS YEAR SO WATCH THIS SPACE..........

Most peolple recognise you by the barrage of tattoos on your arms, Do you have a favourite? Do you have plans for any more work to be done?

MY LEFT ARMS MY FAVORITE TATTOO/TATTOO'S. ITS NOT COMPLETELY FINISHED YET BUT ALMOST. I WANT MY RIGHT ARM COVERED THE SAME AS MY LEFT AND I HAVE GOT FLAMES GOING UP MY RIGHT LEG WHICH NEED FILLING IN....OWWWW. IF I HAD THE MONEY I WOULD HAVE IT ALL DONE NOW BUT I GUESS I WILL HAVE TO BE PATIENT.
and finally the question everyone has been wanting to ask you...

How do you constantly keep that hair so short and dandruff free?
BEST THING I EVER DID WAS SHAVE MY CRAP HAIR..... I USED TO BE A SUNDISSENTIAL CYBER KID WITH BIG SPIKES AND MAD COLOURS ALL OVER. GLAD I HAVE LEFT THEM DAYS BEHIND...LOL.
