After hours clubbing has been a major influence in the progression of Hard House, back to the early days of Trade, which most feel was the creator of Hard House along with their resident and superstar in the making, Tony De Vit.

Many years after when Hard House finally started to break through to the mainstream another after hours club, Insomniacz, then became instrumental in pushing the sound to a wider audience and turning what seemed like just an after party for Sheffield’s Gatecrasher then turned into an over-night sensation.

As with London and Sheffield, Birmingham had its own after hours sanctuary, Radius (Scarlets) which then became the breeding ground for some of the Midlands’ finest Hard House Dj’s and producers Mark H, Steve-NRG, Riggsy, LT1 and Mini Minx. It was also once home to Shaft, Birmingham’s Sunday clubbing experience. Clubbers would flock from many bigger events such as Polysexual, Storm and B2T to what became an essential part in midlands clubbing.

Not only was the venue perfect for after hours clubbing with a crystal clear sound system and plenty of comfy seating for those who simply wanted to chill, it is possibly the only club in Birmingham to support an outdoor seating area and beer garden adding that extra edge to the after hours and Sunday clubbing during the summer months.

Scarlets (fka Radius) is now home to Sleepwalk which has become Birmingham’s premier after hours club with some of the finest talented residents in the country. Vicious Circle and Fireball’s very own Ben Stevens, Flashpoint and Requiem’s Dave Curtis, Birmingham’s fast rising female, Kirsty Lee James and Sleep Walk founder, Steve-NRG. All creating the backbone to this fast rising brand.
