Local promoter and DJ Jim Breese is at it again. After successful ventures like Karma and Diablo, he and fellow promoters Phil Dockerty and Pete Gooding have come up with what they hope will be a club night like no other in Birmingham; in essence a touch of London coming to the second city. They have taken inspiration from clubs such as Fabric, The Cross and Turnmills, for their new night ‘Hero’ which will launch at the Boiler Room on Friday 16th December. It’ll be a night for cool people digging cool and underground music…

Their caption for the night is “a little room and a feeling” and the music policy will be strictly cutting edge club sounds – essentially House inspired by Ibizan clubs such as The Terrace, DC10 and The Underground.

“Hero is the result of years of musings on the state of the local club scene with fellow DJ’s Pete Gooding and Phil Dockerty. We feel the vibe in the city has changed in recent years and its clubbers are now more receptive to the concept of the underground music scene.” Says Jim.

The Hero party will roll into town every two months in 2006 hosted mainly by residents, Jim, Phil, Pete and Andy Warburton with occasional guest DJs. On his hopes for the night Jim says “To me there is nothing better than an intimate room of people going insane to House music. It’s a communal feeling of everyone together and on the level. Expect no pretence from Hero, just a vibe that’s very, very cool.”
