HEDUCATION
Hip Hop, Funk, Breaks, Soulful Drum & Bass

They say Friday 13th is unlucky for some, but not for you fortunate few, who have the chance to see one of Birmingham's finest funksters flexing his fusion of fat floor-fillers on Friday!

FRI 13 OCT

Special guest DJ:
KATO (THE 39 STEPS / INVISIBLE ORCHESTRA / CRITICAL BEATDOWN / FUNKY MULE)
Birmingham native, Kato, returns from Leeds to Heducation, his spiritual home. With him he brings his unique blend of breaks, funk and hip-hop! Since we were lucky enough to have him play for us last time, (a legendary set after MARK RAE), he has cut down on his promotional duties and concentrated on production. Having had previous releases as the 'INVISIBLE ORCHESTRA' (FIRST WORD RECORDS / VOICE OF THE UNDERGROUND), he is currently completing his album "THE 39 STEPS" with the jazz singer/saxophonist, Laura Fowles, and in recognition of his services to music, he was he was nominated for a FAME ACADEMY URBAN MUSIC AWARD!
Please check this link to read his interview with the BBC http://www.bbc.co.uk/leeds/nightlife/2004/02/kato_interview.shtml

THE DOCTOR (BASS OPERATIONS)
Rich The Doctor is half of the force behind BASS OPERATIONS. He has been playing across the country with names such as Bryan Gee, Shy FX & EZ Rollers.

COLA & DJ ECHO (LIQUID D+B SET)
Our favourite hip hop & funk resident, COLA, turns his hand to some rolling basslines and liquid grooves.

DJ CRO (NEW STYLE FM)
Arguably Birmingham's hardest working hip-hopper, when he's not working in Jibbering Records, touring with SonnyJim & Kosyne, or playing on New Style FM, you can be pretty sure that he'll be talking, thinking or at least dreaming about music.

MYLZ (HEDZ)
The founder of Heducation, and general turntable addict, Mylz will be playing his renowned selection of party anthems.

Free Entry before 11pm. After: £3 (members) / £6 (non-members). Membership £1 on door.
Free bottle of Corona Extra for the first 25 hedz.
Drinks from £1.50 all night
