ADAM DEUCE: Firstly I wanted to ask you about your Sunday morning after party Zombies Ate My Brain. Where did the name come from and what can we expect from a visit?

SHANE WATCHA: Well the whole zombie idea came to me in a dream (or was it a nightmare?)
I was DJing in this underground basement and had all these crazy clubbers really going for it.
The atmosphere felt really intense and real with these disco zombies jacking to my music. Every now & then I would get a glimpse of clubbers jacking so hard that i would see blood splattering on the walls! It seemed as the beats got tougher - the crowd got nastier. Very soon there was carnage on the dancefloor and it turned into a mass zombie feeding frenzy with limbs flying all over the place. As long as I played the music - the zombies left me alone!
So I came up with the idea that I wanted to do an nasty sordid afterparty and call it ZOMBIES ATE MY BRAIN! What can u expect from a zombie DJ…? Music that will scare the living daylights out of ya!

AD: You are a resident at Circo Loco at The End and you’ve played at our favourite club in the world - DC10 in Ibiza. How did that all come about and what was it like to play at DC10?

SW: Well I had been playing for Circo Loco here in London for a couple of years – then got invited to play the opening at DC10.
The party was amazing and it was really great to play DC10.
The only problem was that my set went so quickly before I knew it – it was over!
I will be out for the closing party – so looking forward to that.

AD: We love your tune “Zombies Revenge”. Do you have any plans to get back in the studio soon and if so any interesting collaborations lined up?

SW: Yeah it’s a great track and always seems to lift any dancefloor! Often suprises me the response it gets!
Loads of new tracks coming out. Follow up single “SHUT UP” will be out in the next month or so.
It’s a kinda techno track that just grooves with a good ole bad ass bass line!
Just finished a cool uptempo techno track that I think is my best track to date.

AD: How would you describe the music you are playing out at the moment?

SW: Amazing underground house & techno music!

AD: What’s the best piece of advise you’ve ever been given?

SW: Play from the heart!

AD: What was the first record you ever bought?

SW: I cant really remember – my parents always had records laying around at home.
I hijacked my Dad’s collection at quiet a young age.
It was probably a depeche mode album or something like that - or was it the WHAM!

AD: What is your favourite club in the world?

SW: I have a few … no particular order
Le Terrazza - Barcelona / DC10 / THE END / NIKKI BEACH

AD: Did you make any new years resolutions this year and have you stuck to them?

SW: I have given up on new years resolutions – waste of time

AD: Favourite alcoholic drink?

SW: Amarula

AD: Custard or ice cream on apple pie?

SW: Always Both!
