Pile of SHIT (or should I say piss)
OK, so we arrived at about 11.30, thinking that we'd get in just in time for midnight. At 12:45 we were right at the front of the queue, by the tent where they were letting people in. From 12.45 to about 1.30 we did not move! People were pissing themselves in the queue, no explanation from anyone as to what was going on. It was fucking FREEZING. People were about to start rioting. When we finally did get to be let in, the security dude was physically forcing us backwards telling us to move. NO ticket checks. Could not get into the marquee as five0 stopping us. Got talking to one copper who said that they only have a licence for capacity of 1500 throughout the whole venue. I want my fucking money back. WHAT A LET DOWN.

Fucking utter disgrace!!

Got there 11ish, the queue was a mile long with no gates or control to it at all, people just pushing in all over the place. Saw one bouncer so asked him how the queue was been controlled to which he said 'this is the high street, not our problem, it's a police matter'- great attitude. Saw new year in, in the queue, freezing cold and dying for a piss.

Finally got in about half 12, only to find out no more people were been allowed into the custard factory bit where the main arenas were, where the only decent music and DJ's we had come to see were. That was the case all night, no one was allowed in the main arenas at all, we didn't get in there once. The police said it was dangerously overcrowded because they had sold far to many tickets for the capacity.

Even outside the main venue was like a cattle market and there was just two crappy arenas left to go in, one was packed and really small, and the other, the old library, kept playing the same shit songs again and again and was just full of a lot of pissed off people who couldn't get in the main arenas.

We would have never even gone in if we thought that was gonna be the case, and security never bothered telling the people outside and in the queue that no one would be allowed in the main part.

Worst new years eve ever, would have been better off staying in, custard factory and the organisers ruined a lot of peoples nights, I think anyone who didnt get into the main arenas should be entitled to a refund, I'm gonna try but I wont hold my breath.

Also whoever's responsible for overselling the tickets should get fired, it's not like it's hard, and if they organise big events they should know what they're doing, doubt anyones gonna take responsibility for the disaster it was though, as long as they made their money they'll be happy.

Being a guy who calls custard factory his home, i can quite safely say that it was a bit too overcrowded in the main marquee area. i really didnt understand why the med bar had been sanctioned as a bar instead of being used for more dance space. Apart from almost being tampled on during and after the countdown i must say that the marquee 2 tent more than made up for my initial worries. Good music and the right amount of like minded people unlike the somewhat gatecrasher'esque attempt rubbish in the old library.

in my opinion, i think it would be good if custard factory opened all of its rooms for New Years and perhaps contemplate collaberating with Rainbow warehouse, to make sure that everyone can celebrate their NYE as they wish.

Peace.

we got to the custard factory early cus of the trains so no problems getting in- we were probably the first to go in the swimming pool aka main arena- it was brilliant but as the night went on and the count down on the screens came up a huge bunch of guys started jumping around in true mosh pit style i dont mind people having fun but bottles were flying around and i was close to falling over and getting trampled on... as 12 hit it all went mad and we all had to leave before i got crushed and my friends- we left the pool completely and the police eventually locked it off completely they said if one more person came in they were going to shut the whole place down! after going through that i saw the que of people trying to get in which was simply crazy!! my friends and i had all payed VIP- and for waht i dont know??!! we are all drum and bass fans and thankfully that arena was great and we ended up having a brilliant night.. i do that think they need to seriously review the capasity of the place and if there guna have a big line up then open the warehouse or something- i was really frightened glad we left
