G.Kafetzis talks to us ahead of the next Cream Classics on March 8th at the legendary Q Club in Birmingham... along with giving us his latest Cream Classics PODCAST download link! (click here)
Hi George, thanks for time out from your busy schedule to talk to us...
Anytime mate, aways got time for you guys...
So... How’s the planning for the Cream Classics event at the Q club in March coming along?
it's going really well the response has been awsome, just been really busy ... i cant wait !
What’s the reaction been and have you had much interest so far?
It's been amazing, my phone's always ringing with people trying to get hold of tickets, we have sold as many tickets as of today as we had sold by the day before the last event, so we are on par with NYE! It's gonna be wicked hoping for a sell out on this one...
Do you think that’s because the previous event had such a positive response?
Well people didnt know what to expect from the last one and we got 1200 people in and everyone loved it. As soon as the tickets got released we sold 100 in the first day, it's mad really... think the line up is stronger this time with the colonel Danny Rampling playing!

You played at the last event didn’t you? How was that?
I was supposed to play the last set but Mr Healy had a flat tyre so I ended up playing the main set for half an hour! The event atmosphere was electric - the best experience I've had... oh and I've done a podcast just to get you warmed up for the next event!
Ah thanks for that George, we’ll download now and check it out - (click here to download Cream Classics Podcast/mix)
What made you and the club decide to bring back Cream to the Q club after such a long gap... 6 years wasn’t it?
The club owners asked me to put something in on the 8th December 2007 and I didn't have that long to promote so I knew I needed a good brand, and who better than Cream? You're right it held it's residency here over 6 years ago. The Q Club is legendary and I just want to bring that back to Birmingham and it seems that the punters out there want that too. I had some of my best experiences at the Q and there are a lot of people that haven't experienced it yet. You just have to... it's the best night you'll ever have!
Do you think there’s room for a superbrand such as Cream in Birmingham along with the likes of Godskitchen and Sundissential?
Godskitchen is great, Ii went to the first ever one they did at the Santury but there is always room for other brand, people like to go to other places. I just want the Q to be one of them... as for Sundissential we might be bringing that back too...
I see... so we could possibly look forward to a Sundissential special event at the Q club in the near future?
Hopefully... but dont tell anyone ;)
So coming back to Cream Classics... Who’ve you got playing this time, and what’s in the 2nd room...?
In the main room we have Danny Rampling, Jon Pleased and Allister Whitehead, and as for the second room my good friend Will bailey is headlining it and also good old JNR J from london will be coming up to grace the decks... along with Birmingham veteran Dave Oldershaw, Marc Spence and Steve Haines. I've worked with them all in the past and it is being hosted by Discover - you've got a good set in there as well haven't you Jonze ... Hows the producing going by the way?
Yeah it's going great, we need to do a track together soon as well! and yes I’ll do my best at Cream alongside man of the moment Will Bailey and London bad-boy JNR J!
So... have there been any improvements done to the club since the last Cream event?
We have more bar staff than ever before, the security know what they are doing now and we are spending a lot more on the production...
So you’re looking forward to it just a bit then... ?
Im Buzzin mate!!! Buzzin!
Sounds great! Looking forward to it...
