Dj and Producer from Medellin, Colombia, is one of the most tallented emerging techno dj from Latin America. Influenced by artists like Chris Liebing, Lars Klein, Michael Burkat, Patrik Skoog, Serna began producing music purely for fun with various projects since around the age of 15.
Camilo Serna is one of the biggest Colombian names in techno. Championed for his music's relentless pursuit of hardness and his stripped-down, almost future sounds of dark techno, and funky DJ sets, his new sound are pretty amazing in the long line of Detroit-bred talent to take on an bigger reputation.
He makes techno with an emphasis on dark and experimentation over popular sounds. Having recorded a few tracks also was a founding member, along with Derout, of the Intelligent Divisios label, whose influential releases throughout the early and mid '90s helped change the face of modern techno and sparked a creative renaissance.
As a full time techno soldier, Serna started producing at his studio and doing his live sets at various local parties, becoming quickly a favorite. In 2005, he formed Intelligent Division with his long-time friends. They agreed to take things to the next level and show their music and work to a much wider audience.
He's the only Latin American DJ that played in Radio Gotham City (Gotham Grooves Records), hosted by DJ Becka and Agent Orange, streamed by livesets.com.
A few words can easily describe Camilo Serna's style: banging, hypnotic, complex, dark, techno and his work will soon be featured as a distinguishable sound Although his desire to remain underground has been replaced by an urge to reach a wider audience.
