Slinky @ The Opera House Bournemouth is closing October 2006!

This article is about 176 in Bournemouth (UK)

I have just been informed by Opera House HQ that not only is Slinky going but it is going sooner than i thought!

Originally i was told that i could hire The Opera House for NYE and that they would honour all dates that were put in between Oct and NYE (the one's that i confirmed in last night's e-flyer).

I was told literally one hour ago that Slinky is no more after the Halloween Ball. So we have 2 more 'Slinky' events left before the last Slinky @ The Opera House:-
~ Fri 13th Oct - Slinky with Eddie Halliwell, Marcel Woods, Montana and Tim Lyall
~ Fri 27th Oct - Slinky's 10th Halloween Ball with Marco V, Lab 4, BK, Adam Sheridan, Subgiant, Marc Vedo, Graham Gold and Dav Gomrass
(Obviously 6th Oct and 20th Oct are still on too but these aren't Slinky gig's)

So guys, no NYE as our last event at The Opera House :'(

I am so gutted i can't even write anything funny or clever or encouraging. The moment i find a new venue for Slinky vs Atmosphere and Slinky vs Antiworld as well as Slinky Hard on 15th December i will let you know.

I want you all to carry on supporting the last few nights at The Opera House for Slinky so we can remember Eddie Halliwell and the Halloween Ball as the last and best gig's!!

Any suggestions for venue's for these gig's then get in touch via e-mail!

Slinky will live on however many barriers are put in front of it... But we need all the support we can get.

See you all soon :)

The refurb aint for slinky mate, its for new & different things to happen there. New management = new things

Live bands and live acts, not slinky events

Ok, I got the impression it was. I'm probably wrong. I cant see them moving the event though... it makes them good money. Suppose it depends on what live acts they get.

So whats the reason for them moving it from Opera House? I thought Dick Carr owned Elements etc.. so he still makes profits from Slinky now, then moves it back to Opera House in 2007 when its refurbished.
