BREAK DA HOUSE 5th BIRTHDAY & "END OF AN ERA PARTY' with DUB PISTOLS & The BdH ressies..
Friday 17th July @ Club Be, Bournemouth
.

'After 5 years of putting on breaks, electro & eclectic beats parties in Bournemouth's & becoming one of the biggest parties in the south, Break da House will be calling it a day. Our last party which also doubles up as our 5th birthday party will be on Friday 17th July at Club Be, Bournemouth (formerly 2020 & K-Bar) with 1 our all time fave guest the legendary Dub Pistols alongside of long term residents D*Funk & Lee Nazari as well as BdH new boy Dr Fish & long time friend Gaz White. Also joining us, all the way from sunny Australia in Sangers & N’fa.

Over the past 5 years we've put on some amazing parties featuring the likes of Plump DJ's, Stanton Warriors, Meat Katie, Lee Coombs, The Freestylers, Evil Nine & worked with other promoters such as Tribal sessions, Club Class & 2020Rocks. We've put on & been part of events at Dusk Till Dawn, K-Bar, 2020 & 2020Rocks, Ministry of Sound, Junk, Motion & many more. We’ve helped build & shape the music scene in the south, always trying to push the scene forward & bring the music which we love to an audience that, without us, would have missed out on such great music & artists.

We decided that we would go out with a bang & make our 5th birthday party our last. It's a massive achievement for an independent night that was started by a few friends to make it to the ripe of age of 5 & to have done what we've done over the past half decade.

The reason we’ve decided to call it a day now is that when we started the night it was 4 mates who we’re putting on a party for like-minded people with music that wasn’t being played anywhere else. From what started as a small night, through a lot of love & hard work we’ve managed to build a respected night that’s put breaks, electro & eclectic beats on the map in Bournemouth.

Now it’s 5 years down the line & everyone involved in running the night have gone their own way. Doug is off to Australia for a year in Sep & has started his own label, ‘Up:Start Music’. Naz has formed Rogue Robots & is putting on his own electro parties, ‘Perv Circus’. Doris is in Ibiza every summer where he is resident at the legendary Space. Ben is doing his own ‘Speakeasy’ nights. It seemed to us that the reason we had for doing events in the first place had gone & rather than carry on for the wrong reason that when we reached the milestone that is our 5th birthday we would put on 1 last huge party & go out on a high.

Break da House signing off. We salute each & everyone who has lost it on the dancefloor...'

DUB PISTOLS ALBUM /// DUB PISTOLS ALBUM /// DUB PISTOLS ALBUM

Dub Pistols release the fourth and best album of their career – the infectiously brilliant 'Rum & Coke' - out now (May 25th 2009) on Rob da Bank's Sunday Best Recordings.

Barry Ashworth and Jason O'Bryan have been crafting and refining their forthcoming album for over a year now, ensuring that creatively this album stands head and shoulders above everything they've already achieved. Assisting the boys on new material are a collection of champion collaborators: Ashley Slater (Freak Power) on 1st single 'Back To Daylight', Lindy Layton (Beats International) on 'I'm In Love', Gregory Isaacs on 'Six Months', superstar DJ Justin Robertson on 'Keep The Fire Burning', Red Star Lion on 'Peace of Mind' and regular D.P. cohorts Rodney P and TK Lawrence.

'Rum & Coke' melds a euphoric Carnival atmosphere with bass heavy soul, ska, electro-funk, lovers rock and quality hip hop. A touch of Latin and some deft brass arrangements complete the picture: a warm, sun-blissed jump around feel-good journey that encapsulates perfectly the West London origins of the band.
