As subbassfm.com approach a year online, it`s time to sum up what`s happened in the last year!!!

Subbassfm as most of you know started with Myself Sweetie,Dj Dubya and Dj Hoody,we were sat round our house one night and thought "why can`t we set up an online radio station ourselves!!" so many stations are around on the net but not all of them had what we wanted,a mixture of the 3 genre`s (DnB,Breakz and Old Skool Pre`94`) with Dubya`s knowledge of building websites and technical stuff, both Hoody and Dubya`s years of knowledge of working on internet radio and fm radio previously and myself well !!!you all know what i`m like chatty and can talk the back end off a donkey !!

The emphasis was always to make Subbassfm a platform for unknowns, it was to start off on a timetable from 4pm-12 midnight and there we thought it would stay for a few months at least we never had any intentions "of making it big" or making money and still dont.

Dubya started building the website and myself and Hoody stated scouting for DJ`s, as the hunt started and demo`s came in we were really suprised with the feedback and interest from DJ`s support from other promotors and DJ`S and helpful advice,and DSI was and still is a wonderful help,we found that there was alot of interest from DJ`s that played outside the genres we were looking for and also DJ`s that wanted to play but couldnt commit to a weekly slot, so decided on making one of the slots available to a free genre non regular commitment slot (Sunday 8pm-10pm) within 2 weeks we were online with 10 dJ`s including Dubya and Hoody.

Withing 3 months we were planning our first event to showcase the Talent we had on the station so far,25th August 2007 saw us at The Empire Club in Bournemouth, We were quite nervous as any first event is always a nerveracking experience and so much hardwork had gone into this night.

We all had such a fab night and work was under way to sort out the next event, unfortunatley for specific reasons Empire Club was not to become our new home so a search for another club was underway.

In the meantime The station kept growing the interest kept building we had built up a gathering of listeners and alot of regulars in the chatroom who were always ever so supportive and helpful with new DJ`s and Listeners, warm welcomes are so important to us and everyone.

Fallenangel was to be our new chat moderator, a helpful promotion aid, and a fantastic friend to everyone you are an amazing girl dont let anyone ever tell you any different !!

By Christmas the timetable had expanded to 10am till 2am everyday with live DJ`s from All over England, America,Australia,Holland and France, we currently have around 45 DJ`s on the timetable subbassfm.com a regular guest slot which is currently booked up right untill May 2008,Featuring DJ`s such as Robbie Dee (the original detonator)(DnB), Shotz(Radical Beatz+Planet)(DnB), J-Bass (Born Idle Records)(Breakz), Decibel monkeys(Electro House),Jai-D(Garage),Andy Slammin (Hardcore), SMS Crew(Hardcore) and many more !!

Time to sit back and take in everything that was happening, we had been involved with High Velocity in Bognor Regis (A Hardcore and old skool night where Subbassfm Host the old Skool part of the event using Subbassfm`s Old skool Dj`s,Stu,Jon and Harvey the work you do is amazing and we are really grateful and thankful we are part of High Velocity) And as the new Hard Velocity nights come underway more to come from them and us !!

Shotz and Skudge from Planet Dnb and Radical Beats Record Label thankyou for helping us out on certain aspects of the site, for the helpful advise,It`s been a massive help, and proves that internet radio stations can work together.

The new year started with some bad news one of our Friends and original Dj Skerce was hit with Meningitis and was in hospital we were all heartbroken and shocked, Skerce is a massive part of Subbassfm, We send you warm wishes Skerce and Wish you the best recovery possible, you will always be a part of Subbassfm.

The new year also brought us new Dj`s,new listeners and a new Residency !!

Club2XS Bournemouth Triangle, Lynne the support we have from you is Fantastic, you go beyond helpful, and its nice to have someone that believes in us and what we do.

The first event at Cub2xs on 26th January was a nerve racking one again in a new home!!

Knowing the 1st anniversary was coming up we wanted something special but different, a night people won`t forget!!!

March 15th 2008 Subbassfm brings its First Birthday to Club2xs Pimps and Ho`s style, with 20 of Subbassfm`s DJ`s and 5 mc`s across the 2 floors This is a free event something from us to give back to everyone who has supported us over the last year.

Plans for this started as soon as possible whilst we were still being approached to think about other projects, such as streaming live party`s from Destiny Records new home at Alberts Road Bournemouth (Thankyou Ollie,Dean and RikDK), an event with Liquid sex, a joint event with Krisis DnB and possible future joint events all taking part at Club2xs.

March saw us featured in Knowledge Magazine altho it be only in the events section to us thats a massive thing, we are also featured in Aprils issue under the Internet Radio interview section which we are extremely proud of !! As soon as i get my hands on the article Believe me everyone will be seeing it haha!!!
