Maison NYE Cancelled
Due to a sequence of events beyond our control Maison will NOT be at Dusk Till Dawn (Bournemouth) this New Year's Eve. We had a deal with DTD which they have broken. We will not be doing any more events there.

I'm not sure at the moment whether or not we will do an alternative event, which means it is a possibility that we won't have a NYE event for the first time in a long time. We have built our reputation by doing what we say we're going to do when we say we're going to do it, and by being trustworthy and reliable. Unfortunately those aren't characteristics shared by a lot of the people in this industry, which is why generally club owners / promoters are a shady bunch of cretins who you shouldn't touch with a barge pole.

On the whole we've met some fantastic people during the last 9 years and had a great time, but that isn't to say that the same bad apples don't keep cropping up and screwing people over whenever they get the opportunity. It's a shame, because we like to think the best of people and give them the opportunity to do the right thing, but in this instance the people in question didn't even come close.

This means that our 9th Birthday is very likely to be our last event of the year, so let's make it our best.

We're really sorry to all of the people who normally travel from far and wide for our NYE events. We hope this doesn't p*ss you off too much... we'll make up for it throughout 2007 with some great parties. Please spread the word (add buddies etc) that we're not doing a NYE event. If the situation changes we will let you know immediately.

Thanks very much,

Cliff Lay

Oh, I see! When the cat's away... Naughty boy! Did he embarass himself, Glenda?

well i didnt spend the whole night with him as it was tash's b'day but from what i saw he seemed pretty wasted havent spoke to him since though but dread to think what he got up to with francis rion and dean after!

Hmm... yes, sounds gorgeous... if you can convince Mr. Parker to pay for it! Chances are slimmer than Nicole Richie, to be fair ;-)

i was only really seeing if you wanted to come anyway kingpiece he wasnt really invited

so what will you do now though that youve got friends who have already paid to come down? house party? jumpin jaks? nothin?

Friends have cancelled their tickets, we're just going to stay in, drink some mulled wine and watch the count down I think, not really anything else worth spending money on in Bournemouth and can't afford to go elsewhere. Want to go to X-Press 2 at Ministry but never gonna happen! :o(

Had a few mentions of possible house parties this year so think I might skip town altogether.

I want to do something exciting for once - it's always such a bloody anti-climax! I reckon we should nominate Jonathan and Ryan to throw a party, Rob - I reckon that'd go down well, don't you?!

Think I'm doing Jazz Juice again - Its a proper fun party, just what you need for NYE - and the last ever night at the showbar, be a part of history and all that bollocks.
And i don't work for them in any way so this is not a hijack!

That's all very well but it's very annoying for those who had arranged for about 10 friends to come down from London for Maison, they aren't interested in coming all that way to go to a residents party at DTD. If they had promised that night to Maison they should have stuck to it, just being selfish and not thinking of the customers and people who had planned their night around Maison (including buying coach/train tickets). All because the residents want a bit of a spin!

perhaps you should try out the residents party u might find it a wicked night.....oh and im sure refunds are allowed on the trains..xx

I'm going to jump on the bandwagon and hold my own party and create my own genre of music - I'll call it "neo-ska-folk-new-wave-trip-hop-Northern-soul" - any takers?

Minimal techno isn't anything new! it's been around as long as acid house!

so did you hate Craig Richards then because he's much more minimal than Pseudo Funk!

I don't know what you think minimal techno is but it's not boring gabba or trance like bollocks! it's the same tempo as house, the same rhythms as tribal house, the same sqeeks and bleeps as acid house just without the crap female vocals and cheeze.

techno is the love child of funk and a drum machine. The unwanted child of black music.
