The Mass Debate: What is better… hard house or hard trance and hardstyle?

In advance of Frenzy vs Resonate, the two promo teams went to the pub and had a discussion about what is best. Hard house or hard trance/ hardstyle? Needless to after a few pints and a fight in the carpark, we decided to let the clubbers settle the matter. This is what we think, we’d like to get your views.

Frenzy says hard house is better than hard trance and hardstyle because...

Hard house is better than hard trance and hardstyle because it has always had a fun element to it and doesn’t take itself too seriously. That is what clubbing should be all about. It’s also a little bit sexier. We're thinking fluffy boots and hotpants that emerged from the hard house scene. Plus of course the leading female DJs that hard house has... hard trance is not sexy.

Resonate say hardstyle is better than hard house because...

Hardstyle is constantly evolving whereas hard house has just stayed the same and to be honest, if anything, got worse! We've got a saying that goes like this "Hard House is like a little kid that wants to grow up to be just like Hardstyle".

Frenzy's 5 Reasons to love Hard House

  1. Hard house events bring all sorts of people together in one place, and some pretty odd ones at that... which is good
  2. It’s colourful… just look at some of the lengths people go dress to impress.
  3. It’s good old-fashioned English rave music. There are not many genres of dance music we can lay claim to. We invented it and should be proud.
  4. Anyone can create a hard house record. Little known fact but Lee MacDonald aka Zammo from Grange Hill actually had his own hard house vinyl out in the early noughties. It’s easily accessible music and it should be applauded for that.
  5. Hard house clubs have provided the blueprint for 21st Century clubbing. Sundissential, Trade, Frantic... all standard bearers.

Resonate's 5 Reasons to love Hardstyle

  1. It mutated out of hard trance - enough said.
  2. Sensation Black. 40,000 people dressed in black, stomping away is mind-blowing to say the least! What's the biggest Hard House event?
  3. Because it's no-nonsense, non cheesy hard hitting toughness!
  4. In what other type of music can you get repeat appearances from the voice-over guy from movie trailers?
  5. It's not really a reason why, but the winner of the hard dance awards last year was Alex Kidd and best track was Showtek's Fuck The System, need say more?

If you want to make your own mind up about who wins this battle of the genres then get yourself down to Dusk Till Dawn in Bournemouth on Friday the 13th of February for Frenzy vs Resonate. Details below:

i persoanlly love hardstyle becuz its got so much energy. hard house is ok but its all starting to sound bland in a way it sounds to cleanly produced and edited. Like britsh hardstyle some of that sounds to produced and stolen from other tracks. i listening to alot of dutch and italian hardatyle then i catch britsh stuff like Swankie and it got the britsh clean production with the good european sample on it. when u listen to the dutch hardstyle is has such a dirty warm feeling to the baseline and awesome samples. u only have to look in the clubs and see that the aqcts getting booked are even hard trance, hardstyle or nu-nrg. look at any of the q-dance events, none of em are in clubs there all stadiums and the shows theu put on.

watch this videos and youll be stunned, ok u may not lke the music but watch the stage show.

evil activites intro youtube.com
evil activites coldplay cover my fav video youtube.com
technoboy youtube.com
showtek poor quality video but i wanted to find one with a wide area shot youtube.com

as u can see the videos are mental

sorry about my spelling and shit but to my defence im a retard
