Slinky?
What the hell's going on at Slinky HQ. Slinky is without doubt one of the biggest names, events and nights in Bournemouth (maybe even the south coast). Now it can only put on a handfull of nights a year, why? If the big name DJ's are to expensive, then give local DJ's a chance, some of them are probably better anyway, like Dav Gomrass, Lee Haslam, Kym Ayres, Daniel Bailey, Gregg Wooly, Ashley Fowler, Dave Burrows there's lots to choose from. No disrespect to Dusk till Dawn, but i can't believe Slinky's redused to a small venue like this.

It's a Slinky Tour night.

Slinky do tour nights all over the UK in smaller venues.

Sorry about the rant. I've been a Slinky regular for all 12 years and i'm just abit upset that Slinky's only laying on a handfull of nights at its legendry home the Opera House. Guess i'll give this night a go, would be good to see Timmy & Gaz again. Respect to all the Slinky crew.

Make sure you make it to Slinky White... next one at the OH is planned to be the Halloween Ball I'm afraid after that

At least I'm not going to miss a Slinky (apart from Dinky Slinky, which has an amazing lineup!!!) whilst I'm out in Ibiza for the season. Quite happy about that ;)

My names on the list got tickets months ago, wouldn't miss Above & Beyond for the world.

I went to see Carl Cox on Thursday - he played in a 300 capacity space , he could have sold out a club 10 times that size - its about doing things differently from time to time !

is there any reason why slinky have only got 4 dates this year and does this mean that slinky is being slowly forced out from the OH again ?????

No , I made the decision to only take 4 dates , the fee is involved with hire and DJs are all going up ! but we felt people would not pay more money to come , hence we decided to do less dates

so can we expect more dates next year and is there any possibility of slinky NYE 09 ??

NYE is very unlikely , it simply does not stack up for us costs wise , we may add an extra show this year if a certain booking we are chasing comes off - as for next year , its a wait and see , lots of it is linked into costs

I recently paid £25 to see Carl Cox at the Opera House, whats the difference between that and Slinky?
I for one would quite happily pay £20 - £25 for a single ticket. In Ibiza you'll pay £25 - £35, in London its £20 - £25. Instead of making these rash decisions, perhaps you should ask the Slinky regulars how much they would pay to see the big DJ's at Slinky.

We did a very in depth survey at the end of last year which polled nearly 100 clubbers ....

Trust me we did our research

i remember filling one of these in,for me i would be happy paying £15 entry and £20 for big nights

if you were ever to get a lineup sorted i would love to have John O'Callaghan,Simon Patterson Adam Sheridan and Dav on the same night

With times like these Slinky are playing the safe bet. I can't blame them either!

I would rather see Slinky come out the other side in one piece rather than hedging their bets on booking big names in a big venue to see if they can still draw in the numbers.

You only have to notice how Crasher's recent event went moving from pillar to post to realise this is Slinky doing the right thing for its clubbers and its brand.
