A religious group is planning a protest outside Frenzy on Friday. Film crew also in attendance
Ermm... well what can I say. The whole turning into a religion thing went a little bit off the scale to say the least. If you didn't see the press release then you can read it here @ dontstayin.com

The Good News

The good news is that there's a film crew coming to Frenzy on Friday night to record the clubbers and DJs for a new club TV channel.

The Bad News

The bad news is that a religious group today has stated they will be making a demonstration on the night outside the club.

I'm not sure if that's a good or bad thing - you can see there website on blessed-evangelists.net where they state their intentions.

Theme song for the night i take it will be 'Dozer' - "Church of the Darkside" ;)
Nice hardstyle track to get them into our 'religion'! Get downloading and have it on at a resonable level on your mp3 doodars or in your car!

Gotta say though must have your numbers skyrocketing with this publicity, should we buy them a cake to say thankyou? :P

can you imagine 300 'jollied up' ravers mingling with however many 'happy go lucky' church goers? I reckon theres room for conversion on both parts!

Below is an email I have just sent to them. Probably get some religious correction back but I think they are in the wrong here.

Ah now i read the full post, yeah i sent one this morning as well as i was pretty shocked as to how far they were taking this although mine was from the non christian view, I openly admit that my points may be inacurate - i certainly did not realise that churches had gatherings upto 2000 persons as all you hear in the news is that the numbers are flailing. Here was my version anyway:

Hello there,
My name is Damien and I will be attending this event as a I am a follower of hard dance and a member of many organisations within the scene.
I find it very disturbing and upsetting that some people actually feel the need to protest against us when we are simply trying to bring joy to those who enjoy what we do. I understand that you may see it as imoral to release ourselfs as a religon but as far as i can see this was simply done as a way round yet another problem that would cost yet more money in a scene that has a tight budget.
The people within our scene are extremely friendly if you actually take the chance to talk to them, many of them do not share your belifes in what you would call God but there is an all round respect for looking out for each other and enjoying the scene in unnity. Our scene is not the usual lager lout stereotype that is portrayed through the media and I find it a shame that todays society is so easily influenced into stereotyping through what the media tells us.
We do not ask you to come and join us if you are not interested, we do not force our belifes onto you and we do not shun you for your belifes so why must there be a protest against a group of people that are united under a common interest? Is that not what the greater message is within all religions? To accept others and learn to co-exist? How can we expect international cultures to stop war and fighting when 2 different cultures within the county cannot co-exist without protest?
I find this a very narrow minded and arrogant way of looking at things, simply because we have different belifes does not mean we cannot be a religion, - to me a religion is a place where people can come together, share their feeling and feel truley at home, there is no need in my mind for a 'God' so to speak or a reward and the end of the road but simply that all people with similar belifes can unite and allow others to co-exist. And without being rude the numbers we pull through our doors - anything upto 5000 people for the larger events is probably something your 'churches' could not capacitate.
Forgive me if i sound rude i mean no offence i mearly wanted to put my point across as you clearly stated in a peacful manner. I would not want to do this at a protest as i do not belive that it solves anything, it just adds to the publicity which in my eyes is a good thing as it comes for free so for that I thank you. We will still all be attending the event for one reason and one reason only. I am not associated with this paticular event before you ask i am mearly a lover and "beliver" of the music.

I'm pretty sure this lady is the mom of the girl in the other photo:

the funny thing is this bunch of bible chewing sandal wearers would be allowed to promote their ridiculous message on the streets of bournemouth under the councils unfair street promotion discriminative laws, where is the justice in that?

and you've got to hand it to the westboro baptist church, they might be as mad as a bag of spanners but they're not scared about upsetting the hells angels:
