Friday 6th July - Return to New York & Maison present: Darren Emerson, Arthur Baker, Unklejam (Live), Speaker Junk (Live), Cliff Lay & Tosh Ohta, the Geek Chic Soundsystem, John Barber & Rich Sutcliffe, Charlie Lang & Russell Sanger The legendary Arthur Baker’s Return to New York lands in Bournemouth and joins forces with local house music stalwarts Maison for the first in a series of spectacular events. The newly refurbished Opera House is a fitting home for what promises to be one of the most excisting collaborations to hit the south coast in a very long time. Live sets from Unklejam (electro-soul 3 piece band destined for the big-time, now signed to Virgin and on the verge of greatness) and Speaker Junk (hot as the sun – Speaker Junk is the b*stard lovechild of Trevor Loveys and Herve) – you don’t want to miss either of these acts – and the Opera House will undoubtedly be the best live venue for miles around. These two bands on their own are worth double the ticket price – trust us! You will also be treated to DJ sets from Darren Emerson (formerly of international dance superstars Underworld, about to release his long-awaited solo album and head honcho of Underwater Records, purveyors of world-class house music and events around the world), Arthur Baker (electro pioneer who’s been rocking people’s socks off since the we were all kids) and in the back room Maison will present a showcase of local DJ talent – these guys are the lifeblood of some of the south coast’s best club nights and they’ll be paired up and playing back-to-back: Cliff Lay, Tosh Ohta, Charlie Lang, Russell Sanger, the Geek Chic Soundystem and Electric Playground’s John Barber and Rich Sutcliffe.
