The Bays- ‘Performance is the product.’ This well known and highly supported band can only be seen live as they do not produce or sell any recordings. Their mission is to try to create music in the purist, least diluted form as possible. They believe that music should be seen first hand live rather than the recreation of a moment long passed.
The nationally renowned performance band don’t record their music, don’t release CD’s, don’t rehearse and never perform the same set twice. Every gig is a one off exclusive interaction between performers and audience
The 4 piece comprise of: Chris Taylor (Spiritualised), Jamie Odell (Jimpster), Simon Richmond (aka Palmskin Productions (Mo’wax, Nenah Cherry, Jon Spencer Blues Explosion) and one of the worlds leading drummers, Andy Gangadeen (Faithless, Massive Attack, De La Soul, Spice Girls!)
Funked up dance is at it’s core but the bays draw elements from disco, house, breakbeat, hip hop, techno, dub, ambient and often finish off with some real live drum and bass- it’s all there!
