Maison's first Sunday night event...
Well - I hope you all enjoyed it... as usual I spent most of the night running around but highlights for me were:

seeing how quickly the club filled up when we opened the doors. Upstairs was full within 20 minutes and Tosh played some really good back-room tunes.

seeing so many girls in the club. Seriously! Every time I've been out in Bournemouth recently I've been horrified to see masssive groups of guys - and sometimes no girls at all. We went to another club in Bournemouth recently and at one point looked around to see 90% guys - no disrespect to that club - it just seems that there are too many men in Bournemouth and the girls have been hiding. Last night there seemed to be loads more girls out - and they all seemed to be having a great time... hopefully they'll be back again soon ;-)

the last half an hour of Clive Henry's set - it's the first time I've seen Clive in a couple of years but his music was fantastic. We opened the main room late to give everyone a chance to hang out in the bar and the backroom. I only had an hour or so to warm-up and fill the dancefloor for Clive to take over, so I maybe played a bit more full-on for a warm-up than me (or Clive) would have liked. Clive slowed things down a bit at the start and took the music a bit deeper... it definitely paid off though and by the end of his set the room was rocking to some brilliant tunes (anybody know any of them? Apart from Ame - Rej, which I caught early on, I don't think I know any of them...

seeing the Engine Rooms bouncing to the Geek Chic boys (didn't get to hear more than one record at a time but those i did hear were very good). The floor was a bit like an ice-rink, but the flowers on the bar and on the tables (and in the girls' toilets apparently) were a nice touch and certainly made the place feel a bit more homely - hopefully we can build on that for the next party.

great to see the King Unique boys do their thing (who very nearly didn't make it back from Moscow the previous night - so thanks to them for persisting with the Russian airport employees to get them on their plan). I haven't heard them for a couple of years either but they certainly did what they promised - tough, dirty house music right to the end.

I only caught a few minutes hear and there of the Unabombers, but as always their music blew me away. They're taste in music is second-to-none...

Charlie Lang and his birthday stagger. I think it's fair to say Charlie's birthday drinks got the better of him at some point... how he managed to walk home I'm not sure but he left a message on my phone earlier so he's still in one piece... Happy Birthday Charlie!

old friends - lots of people at the club that I haven't seen out for a couple of years. I know a lot of you travelled a long way to come out - hope it was worth it!

We Love... obviously last night's party was nothing compared to the treats the We Love crew have got in store for you at Space in Ibiza this summer - but hopefully the atmosphere, the people, and the variety of music in all the rooms is a taster of the We Love Sundays experience.

Thanks to everyone who came and partied. Tell us what you thought...

Wicked night Cliff and I agree there were quite a few honeys out, and as you said the bloke to bird ratio is far too high in Bournemouth! Looking forward to next one....Nice

Oh dear.... :-/

Thanks to everyone who made themselves at home in the Engine Rooms with us for the night! Good to see so many friendly places having such a good time. Of the rest, Tosh played some cracking bits and pieces upstairs, Cliff cranked out some great tunes (cheers for that track btw!) and what I saw of Clive Henry before scooting off to fire up the Geeksystem was top stuff.

Rockin'

Clive Henry's set was the best i have seen at Maison so far. The man is awesome thats the second time i've seen him now and he's done the business! He played a top set sunday night. (Anymore of the DC10 residents headlining in the future Cliff?) . I thought Cliff played some wicked tunes in the warm up before hand too. All in all it was stonking way to end my bank holiday weekend and im now very ready for the summer madness!

P.S Getting We Love ... to sponsor sunday night was a lovely touch.

i had a most excellent night!
sorry Tosh, for missing most of your set.
Cliff, really liked the tunes you were playing. Ian and I kept looking at one another "yeah, i like this. don't know what it is, but i should" etc...
Clive Henry was a bit too minimal for me. I was tired and needed to dance hard, which the Geek Chic boys provided for me. absolute highlight of my night...."let's hear it for the boys" yay to my boys ;-)

again my legs are dying post-geek chic - largely from the ice rink dancing experience (message to self - do NOT, i repeat do NOT attempt the splits - man my legs hurt today!)
