Thanks to everyone who came and made the Frenzy room such a success last Saturday. I can't claim to remember much so most of this is just guess work:

Destiny's Child kicks it off

This month it was DJ Wilma, our very own Destiny's Child, who kicked off the proceedings in the Frenzy room. Given that the theme of the evening was hardcore in the main Destiny Arena, it was no surprise that Wilma decided to go harder than you'd normally expect for the first set of a Frenzy gig... as usual though he didn't disappoint and set the night up perfectly for what was to follow... hard house madness of the highest calibre featuring some of the leading DJs in the scene.

Next up into the Frenzy hot seat was the hard dance stalwart Jon Doe who does so much for the music we love, and we felt some of that love on the dancefloor on Saturday night! Jon's known for having quite a hard style so it was just as well he followed Wilma! However, it was all mixed up very nicely with a little bit of bouncyness in the basslines.

Following on from Jon Doe was rising hard dance superstar and Winchester boy, Alf Bamford aka Technikal. Alf's well known for his groundbreaking productions which he blasted out, but at the same time keeping it nice and varied with good funtime tunes, with some wicked hooks and vocals in... hard house, with 'house'.

Then we all had some Charlie

Following Technikal was the formidable Charlotte Birch who brought his last record to a halt and then kicked off with a Prodigy remix. The floor was rocking at this point and Frenzy was at classic peak time. The remainder of Charlotte's set led nicely into our residents' bouncy hour as Big Al and Cheeky Scott turned up.

They gave us the Pot Noodle Horn

A load of hard house classics followed including some dodgy bootlegs, for example, 'Put Your Hands Up For Detroit' and the obligatory '9Bar'. At this point there were party poppers going off and someone had even brough their Pot Noodle horn with them... all good fun! Scott and Al were quality as always and Alan was his usual hectic self behind the decks, he had to have a long sit down afterwards though!

The Defective boys took over from the Frenzy crew at this point as RSL and Jason had their turn. Some quality hard house from the boys, in particular a few Rachel Auburn numbers which always shake the Frenzy crowd up. They fitted right into the Frenzy ethos which is basically have a good time behind the decks!

Last, but by no means least, we had Ed Real make his record 5th Frenzy appearance. He'd just been gigging on a boat party so still had his sea legs on when he turned up, but soon shook off the nausea once the crowd welcomed him. He opened up with a few monster tracks and then carried on in his usual style with a little bit of old skool flavour.

Frenzy charity event with Jody Osman, Kym Ayres, & Jon The Baptist @ The Empire Club - Friday 13th April
Frenzy are throwing a charity event in April with Kym Ayres, Jody Osman, and Jon The Baptist plus many more. It will be over two floors, hard house in the basement, and hard trance upstairs. The event listing can be accessed here.

Frenzy - main room @ The Firestation - Saturday 21st April
Frenzy will next be back in the Firestation the 21st of April for a massive hard house party and we will be in the main room (with drum n bass on the top floor). More details will be released very soon but the line-up will be big... the event listing can be accessed here.

Big "THANK YOU" is called for, both to Marc and all those who came and supported us in the Hard House room. wicked vibe in there and was great to hear some old school tuneage from the likes of Miss Birch/Big Al/Cheeky Scott and all the other DJs in there, who played some great sets!

Really enjoyed playing the venue for the first time with fellow cohort RSL - good work to Marc & Frenzy, like the write-up too mate - gd to meet u! jc

Yeh I noticed that smell - thought it was just loadsa ppl doing poppers in close proximity.

Brilliant night, the room was proper banging and loads of my old mates were there. The Dj's rocked us well 'ard, haven't had that much fun in ages.. both rooms were quality and no mistake though I did end up in the Frenzy room. Suprise, suprise :)
