This Friday Slinky host our second event of 2008 at Bournemouth's Opera House. It's going to be a mad one, and if you were there last month then you'll know what to expect. Tickets are selling fast so make sure you buy as soon as possible. Meanwhile, here are some crazy facts about this Friday's events to keep you going:

1. We’ve calculated that on Friday, clubbers will hear the 30 millionth beat to ever be dropped at a Slinky Opera House event – and this will be heard sometime between 10pm and 5am. The question is, which DJ will be the lucky person to hit this achievement?

2. The Opera House is located in the suburb of Boscombe. The earliest historical reference to the place is found in the book of “Dorset Place Names” where it’s referred to as Boscumbe. This might not come as a huge surprise to you all considering the range of names the place is now known as including the amusing titles of Bos Vegas or Bos Angeles – and I’m told from very unreliable sources that the variant uses on the name come from whether you’re a hard dance fan (Bos Angeles) or a drum and bass head (Bos Vegas).

3. Amongst the items handed into lost property at last month’s Slinky were a size 9 Nike trainer and a Rampant Rabbit Deluxe vibrator. If you can prove that any of these items are yours then please meet Amadeus from the Tidy Boys backstage and he’ll be more than happy to give them back to you. Providing of course you can prove that they fit.

4. Slinky’s home of Bournemouth is well known for its miles of sandy beaches and many hotels. But did you know that last year it was voted as the happiest place to live according to a poll? Not only that, but it’s also renowned for its clubs with Slinky and the Opera House being the standard bearers – both of whom have won numerous industry awards.

5. Slinky resident and Tidy Girl Kym Ayres has provided voiceover work for Kung Fu movies, including the martial arts classic, “Ten Tigers of Kwangtung”. Kym will be playing from 10pm until 11pm so make sure you get there from the beginning. She has a box load of signed DVDs so if you want to grab yourself a piece of Kung Fu history, sling her a tenner and one can be yours.

6. K90 is also known as Mark Doggett. But where does the name K90 come from? Despite the popular misconception, we can tell you that it was nothing to do with the robot dog in Doctor Who, but instead rather boringly comes from his hardcore days and an old track he wrote.

7. This is Slinky’s second date of 2008 back at the refurbished Opera House. The last event was a sell out so make sure you don’t miss out this time. Believe or not over 1500 bottles of water were purchased at the last event. That’s enough water to keep a small family from the Isle of Wight in drinks and baths for one whole year.

8. Little known facts about our DJs on the night: Slinky resident Velos claims to have once slept with an up and coming porn star and Amber D is one of the few hard dance DJs to do an essential mix live on Radio 1. She is also soon to be married to Slinky’s Head of Events, Lee Haslam. Velos isn’t married or engaged as far as we know.

9. In excess of 450,000 people have passed through the doors for Slinky so far at the Opera House down the last ten years. What with this event on Friday, plus Ferry Corsten next month how long will it be before we pass the magic half a million?

10. Tickets for this event are selling fast and can be purchased from the outlets listed on Donstayin.com. You can also buy online from the Opera House Box Office or over the telephone. The last event was a roadblock so make you sure you don’t miss out.
