Yakuji Love is the new backroom sound for Slinky, where we take established international names and mix them with the very best in home grown talent.

Yakuji Love draws its design influence from Tokyo and Japanese fashion, and will draw its musical influence from all over the world, with a firm focus on Electro Synth, Electro House, Techno, and maybe even some Electro pop. Expect to see cool Japanese pop art, Manga graphics and maybe even a Geisha girl.

But why the name Yakuji Love? Well, Slinky directors Richard Skaife and Amadeus spent one very long afternoon buried deep into Japanese text books looking for the one expression that truly sums up what the backroom vibe will be all about.

Yakuji is one of the Japanese words for medicine, so they decided to turn the Japanese way of taking a Western word and adding it to another… And Richard’s all time favourite club is the legendary Tokyo Hard House club Maniac Love… so from that you get Yakuji Love.

So quite simply Yakuji Love is the love of the medicine - and the medicine is music

Yakuji Love will be hosting the backroom for the Slinky Opera House dates as from the 25th of January when Slinky will be making an emotional return to the spiritual home of clubbing in Bournemouth.

Slinky at The Opera House in Bournemouth… a superclub in a super venue.

The first Yakuji Love will showcase the finest in local and global talent on the opening night. Manumission resident Sonny Wharton headlines and is a man who rocks Amnesia and DJs on BBC Radio 1 - plus racks up regular slots at the likes of Renaissance, Godskitchen, and Turnmills.

Joining Sonny will be Hauswerks, whose style could be described as Teccy Electonic House. Hauswerks has already had a lot of success working with some of the scenes leading artists and recently collaborated with trance legends Riley n Durrant to remix Alex Gold's 'LA Today’.

Local Bournemouth heroes and two of the rising stars UK electro, Dirty Inc will be joining the headliners to complete the line-up.
