Mixmag comes to Brighton on Friday

Mixmag is very excited to be coming to Brighton's Honeyclub this weekend.

Seriously, last time we were in that club there were so many girls we saw two cat fights - it was awesome.

Speaking of awesome, the line up for our night is looking pretty hot. We've got Riton, D Ramirez, Jaymo and Andy George, Crystal Fighters (live), DJ Fu & Jungle Drummer (pictured), IAM ONE and Union DJs

Beachdown festival in Brighton cancelled

Beachdown festival, which was due to take place in Brighton this weekend, has been cancelled.

The organisers have blamed slow tickets sales, their bank, suppliers and the current economic climate for the decision.

Their website today reads: "We wish to say at this time how desperately sorry we are to all those who have bought tickets or were participating in the event and to say that we all here are personally shattered especially after eleven months of battling against the recession to try and put this event on and coming so close. We also wish to advise everyone that we explored every possible avenue to finance the event including re-mortgaging our houses to combat the unwillingness of banks to support us.

We will do everything in our power to give the best information that we can via the web-site and via email but we ask that people understand that we will also be inundated with enquiries but we will endeavour to communicate to everyone as best we can.

We ask all ticket-holders to get information from the outlet that you purchased the ticket from in the first instance and once again we will do everything we can to get as much information as we can to everyone as quickly as we can."

Beachdown offers Bloom ticket holders a festival life-line

As you will have read here earlier this week, Bloom festival has been forced to cancel its event this year.

Ticket holders for the event have now been told they can swap them for Beachdown Festival tickets which takes place on the South Downs this August Bank Holiday, 28 – 31 August.

Bloom Festival will now have it’s own tent at Beachdown. The festival's main stage line-up will be Norman Jay, followed by The Zutons on Saturday, Grace Jones will strut her stuff on Sunday and Ocean Colour Scene will wind things up on Monday.

Fatboy pulls plug on this year's UK Big Beach Boutique

The Big Beach Boutique parties on Brighton beach have always been big news, sadly this year's event is in the news for the wrong reasons.

BBB5, which was due to take place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September has been cancelled. It's not yet known why the event has been pulled. We're contacting Fatboy Slim's management this morning.

In other Norm news, Mr Cook is due to perform on David Letterman's Late Show this evening with Iggy Pop. This will be his first ever live performance as The BPA.

Tuesday's Late Show incidentally has MSTRKRFT playing with John Legend. Sorry this is becoming three news stories for the price of one.

D:BRIDGE DEBUTS AT HOSPITALITY BRIGHTON !

One member of the infamous Bad Company and head honcho of Exit Records Mr D Bridge brings his trade mark 'aggressively beautiful' sound to the Hospital operating table. Trust me when we say this will be an education in the most upfront D&B around at the moment!
