After a long winter, Inside Out bulldoze their way back onto the Brighton club scene with their highly anticipated 2009 opening party, Friday 24th April. All three 2008 offerings from this new promotion were definite highlights on last summer’s social calendar so big things are expected. Those of you who were at any of the previous parties, you’ll know the format, but for the benefit of those who weren’t this is how it works… Al Duomo hosts the night which, by day, is an Italian restaurant but by night the Inside Out crew quickly take advantage, turning it into a 2 floor music fest. The venue also boasts an outside terrace against a backdrop of the Pavilion which is fully utilised with its own DJ and sound system. If you like to dance the night away in quirky venues with real character & atmosphere (and let’s face it, who doesn’t?), then this is going to be right up your street. Musically the 2 floors are very different which offers a perfect contrast for the 9 hour session. The ground floor bar plays host to underground disco, electro funk & edits provided by local experts such as Andy Mac & Go Bang DJs. You can either get your groove going on the dance floor or nod your head rhythmically whilst chilling in one of the comfy booths. The basement is where the headline guests appear with the early deep-tech house soon giving way to upfront tech & minimal house which merges into techno as the morning approaches. A dark, atmospheric space, the perfect setting to really get into the music which is testified by the inevitably full dance floor at 6am. The opening party guest is none other than ‘Evil’ Eddie Richards, part of the infamous Wiggle crew, a regular at super club Fabric and a true pioneer of the UK tech house scene. This is a high profile guest which is made even sweeter by the fact that Inside Out is free, yes, that means no door tax at all(unless you happen to arrive after 3am in which case you can expect to pay a mere £3). Guests are joined by residents Contraband DJs (Inside Out founders) and Jamie Bawn. Inside Out will be held on the last Friday of every month during the summer, finishing with the Halloween party at the end of October before breaking for the Winter. If you’re looking for a true underground party with smiling faces wherever you turn then this is one of the few remaining in Brighton. Even the door staff are super friendly which we all know makes a big difference. Roll on April 24th… Inside Out Friday 24th April Al Duomo (Pavilion Buildings, opposite Ha Ha bar) 9pm-6am Free entry (£3 after 3am)
