Russ Yallop
Few producers of recent years have exploded onto the underground house scene like Crosstown Rebels’ latest signing Russ Yallop. While some producers spend years finding their feet, Russ made a clear statement of intent with ‘I Can’t Wait’ his debut release on Crosstown Rebels, a solid cut of nu-school house that was charted across the board by everyone from Jamie Jones to MANDY and was featured by Heidi on her ‘In New Music We Trust’ show on BBC Radio One. Meanwhile, ‘Rock Me’ on the B-side was picked up by DJ Mag and featured on their ‘Best of British’ covermount compilation at the start of this year. Named as ‘One To Watch’ in Electronic Beats magazine and with future releases on Jamie Jones and Lee Foss’ Hot Creations and Crosstown’s new ‘Rebellion’ label offshoot, it should come as little surprise that Russ got snapped up by ‘Ibiza Voice’ to mix a recent instalment of their hugely popular podcast series despite being relatively new to the scene.
Long-time friend and now a fully-fledged member of Crosstown Rebels, Russ Yallop has been biding his time, honing his production skills for the last few years. Part of a new breed of DJs, with studio skills to match, which includes his close friends Lee Foss, Richy Ahmed and Robert James, Russ Yallop’s sound is infected with warm charm and boundless energy. Fusing fun into dance music again, Russ and his UK-based peers are creating a new strain of house music that is currently taking the worldwide underground by storm, promising bright things for the future.
Luca C & Ali Love
LUCA C & BRIGANTE is a collaborative project born in London in December 2009 over the love of love, glaring stars, crushing waves and analogue synths.
After remixing Ali Love and releasing the sought after Double Drop edits EP (an effort to shine a light on some glorious Italian songwriting of the late 70's) LUCA C & BRIGANTE signed to Southern Fried Records and relocated to the blissful island of Ibiza where they began production on their debut album.
Along the way they engaged the talents of Ali Love, Zeben Jameson (A Mountain of One), Findlay Brown, Robert Owens and Roisin Murphy as well as yet to be unveiled production work by Richard Norris (Time & Space Machine) and Andrew Weatherall.
In 2011 with a truely schizophrenic set of releases LUCA C & BRIGANTE have managed to soundtrack the sleazy analogue house bordellos of modern club culture with 'Different Morals' featuring Ali Love - their debut on Southern Fried - as well as releasing a collection of romantic space pop songs for a hazy endless summer: The Invisible Cities EP.
They have received support from Clive Henry, Slow Hands, Soul Clap, Craig Richards, Seth Troxler, Art Department, Bicep, Damon Martin (Disco Bloodbath), Lee Foss, Robert Owens, Jagz Kooner, Pete Herbert, Nathan G. Wilkins (History Clock), Andrew Weatherall, Richard Norris and others.
ALI LOVE
You have no doubt heard of the name Ali Love already. Maybe you know him from the infectious, funky electro-pop of his own album, 2010’s Love Harder which featured the singles Diminishing Returns and Moscow Girl. Or perhaps you know him either as the singer behind the Chemical Brothers’ smash Do It Again, or more recently from his collaboration with Justice where his voice spearheaded their Civilisation single, a song that was also was used by Adidas on a global advertising campaign featuring David Beckham, Lionel Messi, Katie Perry and a whole galaxy of superstars. Ali's latest and more promising project is his live act alongside LUCA C under the name INFINITY INK.
