Well! In all the years I have been going to the Zap (now Digital) that has to be the smallest crowd I have experienced at the venue.

What has happened to Brighton clubs?? The problem with Brighton has always seemed to be that, it becomes very insular and people in Brighton don't usually want to go out of Brighton. As much as I like the place, in terms of clubs and music, it falls a long way behind London these days. None of which is helped by the drachonian approach on the doors these days.

At Digital on Saturday, I kind of expected a decent crowd for X-Press2 and the music inside deserved it. But! when I turned up just after 11.00pm and there was not one person queueing, I knew then it could be slightly "iffy". Then when people did turn up, they could not go in because of technical problems (note to promoter - should have allowed more time to set up), which was compounded by the bloody nonsense that club always has in getting people in i.e. what appears to be as slow as possible, I kind of wished I hadn't bothered.

Brighton should be a lot better than it has let itself become, which is a great shame. Brighton and it's promoters appear to get by on a certain arrogance but judging by the very low crowd at Digital, people appear to be fed up with it.

Shame to hear that there were such low numbers for X-Press2, I would have gone but free entry into Audio to see Dave Spoon was too good to turn down. Junkbox tomorrow night should be busy I advise you to check it out mate :)
