Diverse, Dynamic, Dirty and Delicious Beat Circus
Diverse, dynamic, dirty and delicious, Beat Circus is a dazzling combination of breaks n electro DJ’s accompanied by talented live musicians. The result is an audio schmorgasboard of sexy sounds, a tapas of tasty treats and beats, a bento box of brilliance…with an atmosphere to match.
Dropping the tunes on the decks were resident DJ’s Le Rusteeq, Jay J Lovelle and Leeky Beatz, who played all killers and certainly no fillers.
Stunning, fluid female vocals from Tina T, soulful reggae singing from Ian Dell and the beat boxer Nizz is incredibly talented and right up there with the best of ‘em. The vocal crew are joined by Leroy Horns on sax who is a true musician, Adam on keyboards, Leon Carter on guitar, while other funksters did their thing on the bongos and flutes. They have also had violin, harmonica, didgeridoo, amongst others. The Beat Circus musicians are all about improvisation, imagination and mutual appreciation.

There were also eclectic visuals, my highlight of which was the image of a dog that had been dressed up as an oompa loompa, green wig and dungarees. Aciiiiiiidddd.

The audio-visual delights are teamed with an electric atmosphere. This night was wig night and the people that weren’t wigg’ed were wicked. Everybody was beaming with happiness including a mop head posse and some kerazeee cyber punks. I can say hands down, not joshin’ wiv ya mate, I have not been to club night in the last 7 years in Brighton that I have so much appreciated the talents of the people on stage nor been in a crowd that were so content in the knowledge that we were experiencing something really special.
Having been to Slackers Convention religiously in it’s early days at the Pressure Point, I reckon the Beat Circus are similarly going to go onwards and upwards, only the sky isn’t the limit, it’s going to be the size of the venue.

This is the sparkle that has been missing from places like the Zap and the Honey club for years! This is fresh. This is creativity. This is where it’s at you cool cats, and it’s happening NOW! If you love your beats broken and your music REAL, get your happy souls down to the Beat Circus you WILL have a stonking good night.
Roll up, roll up come and join the show. There’s no bearded ladies at this circus, only awe inspiring talent and plenty of clowning around.
