I know it's a bit vain of me to big up my own night like this, but I just wanted to say a massive thankyou to everyone who turned up on Friday, it was an amazing atmosphere, such a friendly, fun-loving crowd, with smiles all round, thankyou for making Insurgence's Brighton debut an absolutely blinding night!

Also, wanna say a big thankyou to all the DJs who turned up and played spot on sets, you all smashed it, the dancefloor was packed all night, and the music was properly banging, well done to all you guys!

An extra special thankyou has to go out to Matt Durstan for sorting DJs for the second room at a couple of hours notice (Pressure Point didn't mention it till a couple of hours before the night was due to start), and for the DJs (Matt Durstan, Chris Toxic, Reteric, Whozat and a funky house DJ mate of Andy's, whose name I never found out) for turning up to play at such short notice. You guys are all legends, and I owe you all beers next time I see you out :-)

It's a bit of a cliche, but the biggest thanks have to go out to you, the ravers, for making the night what it was. Without you guys, Insurgence would be nothing, thank you! I hope all of you enjoyed the night as much as I did, and I hope to see you all again at the next one :-)

Finally, I just want to clear up a few things. Firstly, the Ugly Dave no show. Dave has explained why he didn't show up (further on in this thread), and he had lost his phone in the accident, meaning he was unable to call. Also, I apologise for saying that I had heard stories about Ugly Dave, I didn't mean to imply anything about his character, I honestly don't know if these stories are true or not, and didn't mean to give the impression that I thought they were. I was just trying to explain why I was suspicious about Dave's no show. I realise that I went about it completely the wrong way, and apologise for any offence caused. I was also wrong to refer to his actions as "pretty fucking shoddy behaviour", not knowing what had happened, and now understand why he did what he did.

Secondly, the next event. As some of you may have heard, Pressure Point is closing its doors next Friday, which leaves Insurgence homeless again for the time being. There are new venues in the pipeline for the next one, so the chances are we'll be returning sooner rather than later. In the meantime, thankyou to everyone for making our launch night a huge success, hope to see you all again soon...

Cheers mate, glad you had a wicked one, didn't catch too much of Durty Den's set as I had a load of shit to sort out, but what I heard was wicked, I'm sure that won't be the last time he plays for Insurgence :-)

I am quite dissapointed to hear that no one was able to make contact to let us know that Dave wasn't able to make it. You wouldn't of had to go into details, jut let us know that there has been an accident and that Dave was unable to make it.

Sorry to hear that you guys were involved in an accident and hope that everyone is ok, that its nothing too serious.

We at Scum Records would like to take this opportunity to apologise to all the promoters and mainly the fans who attended his Scum Records album tour - Brighton debut at Insurgence on 23rd May 08 for any disappointment caused. Whilst travelling on the M40 somewhere outside Banbury, UglyDave was involved in a traffic incident and was taken to General Hospital Accident & Emergency as a result. Although he is ok and recovering well he will not be at work for the next 2 weeks, to be sure he is at peak performance when he returns to the decks and in the studio.

I also wanted to say this personally:
Really sorry for not being able to contact you and let you know what was going on, but as you can imagine we weren't in a fit state to talk to anyone, once we were in hospital of course we couldn't talk to anyone on the phone and to be honest, I wanted to make sure we were all OK and get cleared by the hospital. Then we had to try and get home, making sure the car was drivable - complete nightmare! Since getting home we've been in and out of hospital to get injuries sorted out. As soon as I am well enough I will make arrangements to play another night. Apologies again and look forward to seeing you on the dancefloor soon!
