Music : Rock
Nashville-based rock quartet Kings of Leon are on tour on the back of latest release, Because of the Times. An excellent live band, this date finds them performing at the Brighton Centre. Three brothers and a cousin make up Kings of Leon. The brothers travelled around the southern United States with their Pentecostal minister father before settling in Nashville in 1998 and getting their dirty country rock sound together. The band's 2003 debut album, Youth and Young Manhood, showcased their raunchy guitar blasts and made them rock stars in the UK and a name on the US alternative rock scene. Two years later Aha Shake Heartbreak was a straight up rock 'n' roll album packed with gritty riffs. Having toured with Bob Dylan and U2 in 2006, the band's new album is more diverse and finds them taking a leap forward with both their songwriting and musical prowess.
