Peachy?
First off I'd like to say a big well done to all the Peach organisers, I think it went pretty well for a launch night!

I'd never been to Zap club before and I liked the layout, the decor was nice too. The layout was confusing at first but I figured my way around it in the end. It also gets a bit pongey! Something to do with the drains playing up i'm told?!?! Yuk!

I felt that Peach wasnt very trancy though... I was under the impression that it would be a rather 'classic' trance night and there was none of that?

Drummer played a nice hard/funky/housey set which seemed to get the crowd warmed up nicely.
I enjoyed Ben Gold's set, it felt more trancy which was what I came to Peach for.

In the backroom it was laughing gas galore with a splash of ice poles surrounded by some electroey trancy funky tunes.

All in all I did have a good evening, and I shall be back for the next Peach to see wether is lives upto my expectations of trance. I was never old enough to go the the Peach nights in Camden those 10 odd years ago, nor had I even heard of them so I cannot compare this moder day Peach to the old Peach.

Best of luck with the Peach lanuch in London. May Peach be a big success and continue running along the south coast.

:)

*EDIT* I would also like to say that I felt there was too much smoke being pumped into the main room. I had to delete quite a few of my pictures because they were too smokey and unclear :(

Well said Breamo. I also felt that it wasnt particularly trancey at first, infact i struggled to put any kind of genre on the early music. But I think as the night went on it got alot better and i agree about Ben Gold who for me played the best set of the night. As the night went on though i got alot more into the music and heard some brilliant tracks from 2006 like Lift by Sean Tyas & Exactly by O'Callaghan & Kearny.

The back room music wasnt my thing at all and i felt like i had stepped into some weird space age time warp thing but it was worth it for the great balloons. Thanks Fun & Salerno ;)

I liked the fact that a reasonable ammount of people stayed until the end and that it was for me the perfect build up before a hard trance orientated Harder. The perfect night for the way i was feeling!

Thanks all...I'll certainly be back!

It will certainly be more about "trance" in April, as Aly & Fila are the boys of the moment, and I will be there as well so it deffo won't be too hard. . In fact-all the line ups are much more the style of trance that Peach became famous for!! But Mark Sherry from Public Domain had never played Brighton so it was one of our very many Brighton "firsts" that you can expect throughout the summer! The upstairs is meant to be different form the main floor so we were happy with that!

Arrived into Brighton around Midnight and to be honest after having a long day at work then a long car journey to then have a bath and dinner with some wine, going out was the last thing I really felt like doing.

But as soon as we got through the door and saw a packed intimate club with some familiar Peachy faces and Mark Sherry whipping everyone up into a frenzy with some tough but uplifting trance, I knew I was glad I had decided not to stay in with my pj's!

The Zap is a great club, long bar by the side of the dance floor and being served within two minutes was great, so I grabbed a beer and decided to have a little bit of a wander.

At the side of the dance floor is a set of stairs that leads up and around to a long balcony that allows to you to chill and look upon the dance floor, this then lets you go around to the back where you find a cloakroom with some little arches and couches (reminded me off the little hiding places in Camden Palace )

Through a corridor which feels like bit of a hall way in a house is another set of stairs which leads back down to another bar then back through to the main room! Really felt at home quickly and the vibe was really so friendly!

After Mark Sherry I really felt like the crowd had really had a good stomp and I was in fear that some feet were starting to tire, but up stepped Ben Gold and kept the pace going with some great hands in the air trance and treating Peach to the brand new Frontline track 'Halfway Home' which went off! He kept the crowd on their feet with some really tough driving trance and not forgetting Ten - 4 which just sounds better and better.

Towards the end Ben does what he does best and Sean Tyas
'Lift' was subjected to tricks galore! I swear I thought it was never gonna stop! Great to see so many happy faces, and was great meet some new people, had a great time on the dance floor!

With a monthly party in Brighton in a great club and the fourth coming party at London's Heaven, I know I am just one of many that wants to re-live that Friday naughtiness over again!

Drummer played a nice hard/funky/housey set which seemed to get the crowd warmed up nicely.

Thanks for the comments Braemo i just want to say that i would usually play more uplifting sort of trancier stuff but as a warm up Dj you always have to consider who is playing after you and try and build up the music so that it compliments what the next Dj is going to play which is why Tristan D and I played the styles we played that night. Plus it was the 1st PEACH in Brighton and we had to experiment a little bit to see what would work i.e I played a couple of Breaks tunes, a bit of electro and some tougher forms of House music as well as some uplifting Trance. Dont forget the flyer does say Electro(Backroom) Breaks and "Upfront Trance" and we will always throw classics in to the mix too!

If its what people want then I will definately play more euphoric and uplifting Trance next month but i think that a whole night of constant uplifting Trance from every Dj is a bit much for a lot of people which is why its good to have a bit of variation from the Djs.

Any comments or critisisms from people are always welcome because we are here to please as many people as we can and to make the night the best we can.

See you all soon x

Wow. What a great night. Was a little worried when we arrived about 12.30 to see NO ONE queuing outside, only to then find out that everyone was inside having it.

Thanks for the comments on my set. As most of you know, i played at the Honey for a while, and I always found it hard to deliever a 100% UPFRONT set, due to the crowd always wanting to hear what they knew. Its nice to see some of you picked up on some of the older stuff that i played, but will look to deliever an hour and half of brand new music to you all in Arpil!!

A great night had by all. Bring on Aly & Fila :)

I heard great tunes coming from both rooms most of the night! Missed most of Mark Sherry's set as i was playing in the back room but caught a fair bit of Ben's set and it was just the kind of trance you'd hope to hear at Peach. Hearing The Space We Are whacked out in the main room was a highlight as well! Think the crowd seemed pretty open to all sorts of music as well which makes a change in Brighton to be honest. Cant wait for April!

Really awsome night! The first time i have ever played along side Dean AKA Drummer, it was a good laugh and we had everyone screaming within the first 15 mins! The atmosphere was better than any other night i have played in Brighton and if London is going to beat that atmosphere then i better take some deep breaths. Thanks to all the other DJ's for havin it large and making the night such a huge success. It's hard to find a night in the UK with such a care free party atmosphere and Peach well and truley has that! Things can only get better, Peach is 100% back in town!

Cheers,
Tristan D. x

It was wicked.... the crowd first & foremost. It was the first night yet it was like everyone had been partying together for years!!

Music kicked off very nicely. Chunky, pumping beats with some nice sounds twisted over the top. The DJ's giving the crowd plenty of attention & getting plenty back too, pleasing for an opening set.

Afetr that I spent most of the night up in the back room, as is often the case. I love the comfort, intimacy & atmosphere you only get in back rooms. Especially when the residents are that good & know what their crowd want to hear.

I did manage to catch Sherry standing above the main room decks tho - playing god to his worshipping crowd, what a moment!

To next month & beyond - its gonna be a peachy summer :)
