Fletch, DJ, Producer and Sound Engineer, began his lifelong affinity with electronic music whilst at school back in 1996. From listening to artists such as BT and Paul Van Dyk his musical interest was sparked and he began to mix tapes (yes cassette!) to listen to using some slightly modified second hand equipment.
As Fletch’s skills improved and his tastes matured he was asked more and more to play at parties and bars in his home town of Crewe, and in the year 2000 he began to play weekly at the infamous 187a After Party which began Sunday at 4:30am and finished some time Tuesday afternoon.
Then following a move to Stoke and some vast equipment improvements, Fletch decided to find a further outlet for his creativity and so in 2001 he studied sound engineering at the School Of Sound in Manchester. Whilst studying, the lure of making music of his own was too much and so he began experimenting with production. Things then took an unexpected turn as Fletch formed a band, Overphone with a fellow student, a singer/songwriter from New York, and went on to play venues in Manchester such as The Night & Day Cafe, the Sandbar and Retro Bar.
After successfully completing the sound engineering course in 2003, Fletch then began working freelance for a new recording studio in Stoke, Studio Q. Since then Fletch has found having multiple musical interests very beneficial, as he continued to hone his production skills, collaborate with other producers, remix other artists, gig with his band and DJ at nights/events in Stoke, Leek, Manchester, Oxford and Cornwall.
In 2005 Fletch moved to Manchester due to the abundance of musical inspiration available there, but also to make it easier to play with his band, work on his productions and spread his musical gospel to a wider audience.
Fletch's sound has been, and continues to be influenced by many different DJs and artists, including Sasha, Lee Burridge, John Digweed, Luke Chable, Matthew Dekay, BT, Danny Howells, Carl Cox and Hybrid, without actually sounding like any of them himself. He brings together sounds from many different places and therefore labels his music simply "electronic" so as not to confine himself to any one genre.
