Downstairs will see the arrival of Sell by Dave, who will be showing the TAPE boys some proper disco

Sell By Dave is a DJ. A DJ who plays rather good records (even if he does say so himself). A DJ whose "eclectic take on dancefloor delirium has been praised by punters, promoters, critics and other DJs" (says who? - Ed). Playing a party friendly mix of underground dance styles with an accesible twist, Sell By (as he's known to his mum) has steadily risen through the ranks thanks to a nifty ear for a tune, an ability to read a crowd and a record collection so big he has a separate 15-bedroom mansion in Clifton to keep it in (is this true? Ed). Sell By is based in Bristol in the West of England, and is a familiar face on the city's club scene. He first made his name promoting a monthly party called best before: (2002-2004), which was modelled on a traditional northern "anything goes" night. It was arguably one of the first nights in Bristol to take risks by mixing up bookings, refusing to stick to one sound or genre. best before: gave DJs like Kelvin Andrews, Chris Duckenfield, The Unabombers, Bill Brewster, Brooks and Jigsawmusic the chance to play whatever the hell they liked, be it disco, dubstep, deep house, techno, electro, soul, hip-hop, breaks or bongo acid (I'm losing patience here! Ed). While there are a number of nights in the city that now do this, at the time it was a brave move. Post best before:, Sell By went on to team up with 'Tricky' Nicky Harris (NRK Records) to launch Tricky Disco, Bristol's first regular "balearic basement party". Tricky Disco ran monthly for 18 months, and now appears occasionally when Nick, Sell By and the crew feel the inspiration. Since the days of Tricky Disco and best before:, Sell By Dave's reputation has spread around the UK, meaning regular gigs around the UK at such nights and venues as Lights Down Low, The Nice Up!, AKA, The Big Chill House, SEOne and the Old Queen's Head. He still finds time to play in Bristol, though, and is a regular at such parties and venues as Fruity Antics, Bouyancy, Kingpin, Leisure, Loco, Empathy, Mutant Pop, Seen, Thekla Social, Native, The Tube, Timbuk2 and the Arc Bar. Sell By is also one half of The iDJs with Larry Nelson, and regularly plays around Britain at iDJ Raw Talent nights. Sell By Dave is the DJ alter ego of Matt Anniss, Editor of iDJ Magazine - the UK's number one DJing and dance music mag

Minimal, Tech House, Techno, Electro, Disco
