This is a daytime event (e.g. starts late morning or early afternoon - see below for times).
One of the largest outdoor events in the country, attracting thousands of visitors each year for a four-day festival of fun and flying. The Balloon Fiesta's carnival atmosphere continues non-stop; there are stalls to browse, catering and refreshments from all over the world and a packed programme of arena entertainment throughout the day. Don't miss the spectacular Night Glow, which takes place on Thursday and Saturday evenings at 9.30pm, where tethered balloons light up to music. The Night glows are followed by an awe-inspiring fireworks finale. And don't forget your camera for the mass Balloon launches where over 120 balloons launch across Bristol. Entrance to the Fiesta is free but there is a charge for car parking which can be booked in advance through the Bristol Fiesta website. Opening 2008 07/08/2008 - 10/08/2008 Thursday 12:00 - 22:30 Friday 06:00 - 20:30 Saturday 06:00 - 22:30 Sunday 06:00 - 20:30 Road Directions Ashton court is easily reached from the M5 with direct access from the A369 Portishead road. From Junction 19 take the A369 towards Bristol city centre. Public and VIP (with privilege car passes only) entrances are on the right.. Exhibitors and balloonists take the B3128 and continue as above. From the M32 follow signs to city centre and then Weston-Super-Mare or Portishead. Public Transport Directions A dedicated regular Fiesta bus service and park and ride facility will be provided. These services will drop passengers off at Gate 3 - Kennel Lodge Entrance of Ashton Court Estate where there is designated pedestrian access into the Fiesta grounds.
