A bit disapointed we didnt raise as much as we hoped.... But it was a great night!!
Well i was pretty disapointed to be fair with this event, as we had worked extreamley hard to promote this event since October last year, and as soon as Syndicate announced Slinky would be on the same night i knew we would be in trouble, and that we were.

Problems on the night - Obviously we lost Adam - Lab4 a few weeks ago due to his new comitments with Strike Artists, which ment he had to cancel our event, this was overcome by booking both Vinylgroover & Diablotrax Live PA.

Aswell as this Brian M & Mcbunn had to pull out due to them being double booked.

Scot fo Shaw had to cancel the night before due to his driver crashing the car, so he had no transport to the venue.

These blows on the way we took and overcome, and got on with the show - which i personally thought we had an amazing array of tallent in both rooms, all the DJs that played were amazing, the vibe was wkd, and everyone was having a blast. Me and Jamie lost of Virginity to the CDJs and that was the first time we have ever played out using them - and i thouroughly enjoyed it! If you caught our set your feedback would be great! We were on 1200-0100 in the Main Room.

Then as the night progressed, the numbers slowed down - we exspected this due to Slinky being on but we had a good few hundred people giving it there all!!

Then Kym went over to Slinky to round a few people up, ready for the After Party (Which was us!) Unfortunatley though, Syndicate did not inform the clubbers in their venue of this at all, as originally agreed, people were calling me asking when they were going to be given the VIP band that would allow them to come over to our venue for a reduced cost....

This was not done, according to people who came over at all, nor did they see collection buckets going around Syndicate, anywhere.

I am hugely dissapointed that this was the case, especially as our event was a 100% fundraiser for raising money to give Callum Kaye life saving treatment to overcome his battle with Cancer.

I am sure there are reasons as to "why" none of this was done.

This had major implications to our event, such that we were not at that time going to be able to cover the cost of the event with our current outgoings. This ment that the only way we would be able to try and send money to Callum and cover the costs of the night was to Cancel Lisa Pin Up at the last minute, and after talks within Nyce1 that was the action we had to take, and we are deeply sorry to anyone who did not get to see Lisa at this event.

Lisa was very supportive of the reasons, and was sadned by the decision we had to take.

But thankfully Kym Ayres stepped forward with Mich to play the last our - and i believe it was trully awsome set from both!! - And thankyou for stepping in and making better a bad situation!

We were expecting to have a near capacity club considering the line up we had - unfortunatley we had between 3 to 500 people who did make it a great night!

I would like to thank everybody who was involved/attended/contributed/donated/partyed at last nights event with out all of you last night would not of been the succsess it was despite us not reaching the amount of money we hoped to give Callum Kaye.

Thankyou to Simon for an amazing Light show, Dan for providing all the decor which was fab!
The Addicted Dancers for getting us all in the mood! All the DJs, the Diablo Crew for a wkd Live Set (Sorry about the power cut thing!) The doorstaff for being Friendly, firm and fair in their approach to their job.

The crew that went and flyered Slinky last night and took the collection buckets to help boost funds for Callums Appeal.

We will let you know exactly how much was raised as soon as Ian and his team confirm the totals we raised from Door entry, raffle tickets & the collection buckets.

We had 1 of the prizes donated back, The day in the Studio with Scott fo Shaw (the person who won was not intrested in this type of thing so if people would like to bid for this please do so in this page.

Otherwise thankyou to all of you!

Due to Bionic on May 10th @ Syndicate, we will be canceling our Return of the Big Bounce Night event, as i believe it would be suicide to run up against Syndicate again. We will update you as to when we will be back.

Thankyou to everyone who has supported us so far on our journey, if this was your first Nyce1 we hope you will be back!

All the best

Nyce1 Unleashed!

You can catch me and Jaime (Tuchet & Worm) playin at Hard INvasion this Saturday at Lakota with Andy Farley, Technical + More!! Hard Invasion we hope you will come and support us at this event!!

Keep up to date with all our bookings Tuchet & Worm's Barmey Army!! and join our group!!!

theres more to it than what it actually looks like bud. Everyone has to earn a wage and as I understand she planned to donate a substantial part of her fee.

but why do only top dj's get the right to chare for a charity event, if you dont want to do your bit for charity then why bother?

Im sure there are plenty of people who would take there place, like i said, travel expenses and a drink or two yeh, but expecting to get a wage like its just a normal job is wrong in my eyes, im sure they could get a bookin somewhere else if they was so worried about not getting payed.

So did every other dj get payed?

but why do only top dj's get the right to charge for a charity event

every dj has the right to charge for a charity event, its not the law!!! low key djs choose to dj for free as a) they dont make much money from djing anyway b) a chance to boost there status with a high profile event c) to make money for a charity (obviously)

99.9% of these low key djs do not make a living from djing

top djs however, do. Its her job, her living. Would you go to work on a monday morning and decide to tell your boss that you want to work for free for one week to donate all your wage to charity?

if you dont want to do your bit for charity then why bother?

She did do her bit. As I said, it is my understanding that she planned to donate a substantial part of her fee (what ever this fee was, it may have even been a massively reduced too). Her name on the flyer was probably the biggest crowd draw so this also helped massively.

And as I said before, Lisa was on her way to the venue and doesn't like letting her fans down AT ALL but the fact she was very supportive to Nicks decision to cancel is another good thing. She could have quite easily kicked off about being advertised yet not playing.

Im sure doing an hours djing for free for charity wouldnt make that much of a wound on Lisa Pin Ups bank account....

Its not as if shes working 9-5 in a boring office job that she dislikes which pays her a grand to grand and half a month.

Its hardly like lisa pin up is skint and in desperate need of money is it.

a weeks hard graft is nothing like an hour spinning on decks, which was probably your hobby to begin with.

What employers would request for people to do a whole weeks graft for charity?

I have never heard of such thing.

yes but gettin paid stupid money is tight wen its for a charity dont u think......

definitly, its not like a normal job and im sure plenty of people would love to work a whole week if they could afford it, but people cannot, unless they want to starve and not pay bills, but these top dj's get payed stupid ammounts of money as h20 already stated, whats an hour spinning some choons? nothing to me and most people and shouldnt be to them on special ocasions such as charity events.

So do all these well established bands charge on red nose day and all the other people? no they dont, or at least this is what i thought, please correct me if im wrong.

Its not the same m8

Not supportive enough to see you guys had a problem and since was almost there thought why not just do it for charity anyways, whats an hour on a pair of decks.

Every dj is doing a job , why should others be payed, when they are there to do the exact same job, all cus they been doing it longer and are a lot more successfull does not give them the right in my eyes.

Also did any other top djs playin on the night get payed and did they offer to donate part of there wages, cus if they didnt then i think it's pretty shocking.

I really enjoyed the Diablo Traxx Set thingy but I'm a bit confused about it?!

Is it a live dj set edit or do they play all their own tunes??

I have never known people to charge anything for doing charity events, untill today, i was just a bit shocked, besides that making a thread somewhere else on the site will not get you guys who ran this nite to see our oppinions and suggestions, for your future events.

Slightly confused as to how you can give feedback on a night you've never been to.
