Prominence, the newest adventure from the Funk Boat boys, continues with its monthly residency at Club Cuba (above Fiesta Havana), St Nicholas Street, Bristol on September 30th 2006.

Maintaining its promise of showcasing some of the UK & World's finest DJ's & artists, many of whom will be making their Bristol debuts, Prominence is extremely proud & excited to announce that headlining this event will be undoubtedly one of the World's most in demand & exciting producers, Tocadisco, making his Bristol debut and a rare UK appearance.

Tocadisco burst on to the scene in 2000 with a series of remixes for various labels & artists, most notably of 'Lifetimes' by Scottish legends Slam.

After numerous attention grabbing electro laced productions & remixes, he hit the big time in 2003 by signing for the massive German label Superstar Records. His first single 'Nobody (Likes the Records You Play)' gained worldwide acclaim, with regular plays from the likes of Westbam, Boris Dlugosch, Kid Alex & Mylo amongst others.

His meteoric progression was noted in 2004 when he was voted as one of the best newcomers of the year by the highly respected Raveline, alongside fellow producers John Dahlback & Kid Alex.

It was in 2005 that the excitment really hit England. Remixes of tracks such as 'Phillipe B - Can U Feel It', 'The Egg - Walking Away' (Now the theme of the latest Citreon robotic ad), and 'Mylo - In Your Arms', as well as his own production 'You're No Good For Me' sampling the Prodigy classic 'No Good, Start the Dance' became some of the most talked about records of the year, getting hammered at almost every major event and receiving huge airplay from the UK's leading shows.

2006 has shown no let up in this remarkable young producers career, with remixes of the huge hit 'A-Studio - SOS' and 'Linus Loves - Night Music' set to sit in the boxes of every DJ across the land. It's no wonder we so overwhelmed to be the first night in the city to present such this fantastic talent.

The event itself will be run in conjunction with Bristol's premier floating party The Funk Boat, which will immediately preceed the night and act as a pre-party for Prominence.

In previous years, the Funk Boat after parties have proved a road block, with as many as 400 people all vying to get in and lock outs being experienced as early as 11pm. it is anticipated that with the added stature Prominence will create by hosting the after party, all previous experiences will be far surpassed.

Joining Tocadisco at the top of the bill for this event will be leading local lady Miss Divine, just back from her Summer Ibiza residency. Fresh from her headlining set on the boat, Miss Divine will be showcasing the talent that has seen her jetset across some of Europe's leading clubs, including her monthly residency in Naples, Italy.

Support will come from Prominence & Funk Boat residents Luke Langson, Alex Clark & Will Bailey for a night of pioneering upfront house & cutting edge electro tinged beats. The event will be given that live feel by the jaw dropping skills of Matt Pullin on the pots & pans.

Not stopping there, the venue will be transformed for each event in to a stylish regality in keeping with the concept behind the night. As well as the fantastic DJ line up on offer, you will also experience stunning lighting & visuals, a quite unbelievable sound system, professional dancers, greeting staff, & most importantantly one of the friendliest, clued up & euphoric crowds you are likely to come across anywhere, all hell bent on having the party of their lives!

Doors will open at 10pm, with the event running until 4am. What's more, all attendees will receive a stamp allowing them concession price entry in to the official after party at the Fez Club next door, starting at 4am (See separate press for details of this event).

Door prices for Prominence are as follows: Funk Boat attendees (with band) £6 before 11pm, £8 after. Non Funk Boat attendees (or no band) £8 before 12am, £10 after.

Door policy: Trainers are fine. No set dress code, although sportwear, such as football/rugby jerseys, and also terracewear i.e. Burberry, Hackett, Stone Island etc are not permitted under any circumstances. Turn up with a smile people, but leave any attitude behind!
