Background: Jonathan Troupin was born in Belgium in 1983. Growing up in a Rock atmosphere and listening to Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix etc., he starts playing guitar at the age of 11 and a few years afterwards takes Jazz/Blues-Rock lessons with Gerard Jouffroy, He follows his passion and learns ceaselessly about scales, chords and music theory. His heroes then were: Larry Carlton, Joe Satriani, SRV etc.

He soon starts playing improvised solo and jam sessions. At the same time Jona developes his interest for recording studios. First learning by himself all about the equipment, the recording/producing techniques, until he then enroles at S.A.E. Brussels in 2000 and achieves his diploma, whilst also studying Graphic Design.

Building his own studio followed. Since he was 15, he has been listening to electronic music - at the time it was: Carl Craig, Claude Young, Adam Beyer, Dave Clarke... Jona starts producing electronic music himself at the age of 17.

His sound is shaping from Detroit techno to a more modern sophisticated house feeling. Eclectism is a master-word for him. He's always trying to explore new ways of sounding and takes the advantages of any musical style he listens to.

In the past few years, he´s released 11 maxis on vinyl, on labels like Get Physical, Resopal, Fumakilla, Toys for Boys, Strobe Music... and 7 remixes (for M.A.N.D.Y., Booka Shade, David K, Daso, Soffy O, ...) Amongst them, 2 on the major record company Virgin-EMI.

They both reached number 1 in the official German Dance Charts. Jona´s past productions were played/compiled by key DJ’s like Sven Väth, John Digweed, Laurent Garnier, Mylo and Marco Carola.

Press features and reviews soon followed in Mixmag, De:Bug, Groove Magazine and Trax Magazine. He´s currently working on his first album that will be released on Get Physical.
