Firstly me and raptor would just like to thank each and everybody that made it down to our special 2nd birthday blazer on friday march 28th. We think you'll agree that out the box is getting better and better, and friday was absolutly live !

However...

As we are sure everybody that attended will know, there was one isolated incident about half way thorough the night which resulted in somebody being very badly hit and from what we can understand, kicked in the head whilst he was down.
Throughout all the events we have done over the last 2 years we have prided ourselves on the lack of viloence that we have had, and this mindless, brutal attack on somebody that was just out for a good time, will absolutely not be tolerated at our events and in lakota as a club.
People that do this kind of thing at raves should be totaly ashamed of themselves, and drum & bass as a scene does not and has never wanted these people in the clubs.
Drum & bass is all about peace, love & unity and a commen ground in the understanding of our chosen genre of dance music and rather than beating eachother up it should be just about people coming together & enjoying themselves & the music.
Do these people understand that ultimately this could seriously effect clubs and tarnish the scene they so say love?? i cant understand it and im sure the 99% of ravers who just wanna rave and have a good time, cant either.

This has to stop.

For our next event we want to asure everybody that the security is going to be stepped right up and there will be bouncers and under cover officers patrolling the dance floor at all times so that hopefully we can avoid anything like this happening again, and anybody caught being violent towards anybody else will be ejected from the club and banned for life.

People need to understand the consequences of there actions and understand the punching somebody in a club can lead to a very serious situation, for both people, which it did in this case.

We are going do our upmost to make sure this doesnt happen again, cus out the box is, and has always been about good vibez and we wont little idiots change that.

yea i agree.... im gald the bouncers held onto the kid that done it.... they should do that in all clubs!!!!! if he throws punches at the bouncer then the bouncer should be able 2 restrain him with force.........

Im personally not a fan of drum n bass but have been to OTB once and i have to say it had a nice freindly atmosphere which i wasnt expecting due to the reputation d'n'b has. Keep up the good work OTB.

Yeh there is no need of it - hardcore has been getting a similar reputation lately aswell. :( I wish people like that would just grow up!

ive noticed it at hardcore events recently, i think its because its all going more mainstream, bringing more people along but with those people more twatts, makes me feel sick when i hear about things like this, fair play to the otb chaps tho for jumping on it like they have

i agree totally... to be honest with you i go out mostly to dnb nights now as i cant stand the attitude @ hardcore nights... it use to be about going out and having a laugh but now(especially with the girls) its all about wearing like fuck all and standing bout looking pretty.. sod that i am a red sweaty mess by the end of the night lol.. what i love about dnb is you can go totally back to your roots and where what ever you like.. yes including track suits.. which if we can all remember is what we use to wear to raves back in the day... god i sound old now haha

Even when we went to brixton acad in BRIXTON there was known and the atmosphere was electric !!! mind you it may be different for men

Yeh its a shame - i used to proper love my hardcore - still do but not for going out to as much. Nowadays i love going out to hardhouse/hardnrg and psytrance events the most. Was dancing for an event called Evolve last sat which is hardnrg/techno and that event is what raves are about. They had UV decor/stalls/pyrotechnics and everyone was having a laugh and dancing from start to finish. Had a mixture of people in different styles and different ages. It had the best atmosphere ive seen for a few months!

There is two :) - Tribe of Frog and Ripsnorter. Never any trouble at either of those nights.

Yeh its silly isnt it! Dancers should work together - not undercut each other and try and steal others bookings. Grrr.
