BARBARELLA LOVES LONDON’S WHOREHOUSE
SATURDAY 29TH NOVEMBER
MOTION – ST PHILLIPS – BRISTOL
10PM – 6AM - £10.00, £8.00 NUS
A little bit of Barbarella love about London’s Whorehouse.
Whorehouse has taken London by storm, these exclusive parties attract over 1400 people who love to get dressed up to get down, we at Barbarella are very proud to invite the innovators of these beautiful parties to Bristol to create an amazing adventure in party land, this is the first of Barbarella’s big attractions and will be nothing but incredible, not just a Massive party at Bristols Motion but NYE with Revival at Timbuk2 and a new residency at Dojos, Barbarella is set to set the clubbing world alight!!!
A little bit of Barbarella love about The HOXTON WHORES.
The Hoxton Whores have been co-producing records as a team now for five years and are inspired by producing music aimed at immediately working the dance floor to give back to the crowd energy and inspiration that the crowd have given to them whilst djing over the last decade.
They have created many monster club anthems worldwide (Friday saturday love, Fusion, Sunrise, Sunshine of my love, You're in my hut now, Lost in Ibiza, Promised Land, Bomb the Terrace, Slave,
Been a long time, Boys and girls, Smoothe and Shiny disco balls to list a few), alongside numerous major remixes including the likes of Faithless, Danny Howells, Infernal, Njoi, Moloko, Judy Cheeks & Todd Terry and for labels such as Sony,Appollo,Positiva, Data Manifesto, Nebula & Azuli!!!!
Behind the decks expect a unique ‘Hoxton Whore’ performance with their signature blend of dirt-laced funky pumping electro and vocal uplifting house, combined with tones of tribal, dirty disco and large progressive beats mixed in.
A little bit of Barbarella love about BRAUND REYNOLDS.
If music were a school, you'd find the likes of Coldplay and Athlete sitting quietly in poetry class, Basement Jaxx playing chess, Daft Punk playing computer games with LCD Soundsystem, and Braund Reynolds running riot in the music room.
Glum rock this is not. Imagine a rock ‘n’ roll attitude squeezed into a bagful of drugs and injected with the intricacies of Hunter S Thompson, and you're only close to getting a handle on them… The London duo has enjoyed UK National Chart success with the highly anticipated 'Rocket', on Virgin Records tipped by Music Week, Mixmag, Thomas Bangalter, Fatboy Slim and many industry players, they became one of the globe's brightest new faces. The whirlwind of attention from gigs, DJ sets and demos has seen Ben Braund and James Reynolds officially remixing Eric Clapton to Supermal to The Young Punx.
Their ferocious sets has them joined onstage by Mike Allen on vocals, Jamie Humphries on guitar, Beni from The Mixologists on decks, Adam Bushell hitting the cans, a 4-strong brass section and guest vocals from The Stereo MCs. When solely behind the decks, both Ben and James enjoy gigs across the globe – a further chance to put the Braund Reynolds sound to the masses.
Closer to home you can find them tipping their hedonistic hats at BARBARELLA. Musically, they’re the aural equivalent of the bag of drugs we mentioned earlier - an insanely energetic mix of heavy house, break beats, bootlegs, mash ups, disco, guitar licks, and psychedelia
A little bit of Barbarella love about DJ MILLSKA & DJ DI CASA.
DJ Millska and DJ Di Casa aka Rich and Paul have been together for nearly 10 years storming clubs all over the world including tours for Denon in India and guests spots all over Ibiza, at home they play host to london’s F.N.U.K which has been running for 6 years on various vessels up and down the Thames to a very glamorous 600+ people, together they have produced some amazing remixes for Mark Wilkinson from Kidology including the massive Playground stuff and are currently in the studio working on another club anthem to be aired at Barbarella, with F.N.U.K and their new residency at Whorehouse these boys are set to become superstars. superstars.
A little bit of Barbarella love about our other fab guests.
Along with these huge party players we are proud to welcome Mr IAN COLE from the longest running house night in Bristol – Chicago and the uber cool DIGITAL. TONY FEVER the coolest resident of KOOLWATERS, ROB WORTH from the ever so successful DRAMA at Timbuk2 and THE KARDIAC KID dropping huge breaks and showcasing his new studio work. RETRO DEN, Bristol’s favourite Old Skool DJ, a very welcome return of REVIVAL’S BIG PETE creating the anticipation of New years eve, our new Barbarella residents Phil Bell and Gaven Royce and of course the main man himself Mr CHRISTIAN BARBARELLA.
