Well everybody has they're own opinions but for us there is not a better venue in bristol. At the time we moved from lakota as it was closing and to grow to a bigger brand Lakota was too small.

The O2 academy isn't shit its a great venue. People have the same view about lakota and you cant please everyone unfortunately.

Still, Oxygen will rock what ever venue its at because its not the venue that makes the rave its the ravers!!!

Underground vibe (Lakota) or awesome production (Academy)?

Umm well depends if the sound system is good at the academy this time. I hope it is, as it should be with the big acts they have there. I do love lakota thou as it is underground and has a better vibe, prob cause it is smaller and more personal but understand things have to move on as it's closing.

i actually prefer the layout and interior of lakota, a lot. the staff are great too, which really makes a difference, it feels relaxed and friendly, whereas academy is a bit controlled, you have to behave in a set way (not good if you become unwell for example)

plus!! lakota has 2 rastas that sell coffee from a van! sick

and sometimes they do gas- ftw

its also acoustically superior due to the room sizes and has 2 more rooms (not counting the back bar of academy)

Have to agree with kotu. I think the academy is a decent venue but i defo prefer lakota. The underground feel is much better and the side rooms in lakota are a million times better than the shitty upstairs room in the academy. But either venue i'd still go to for oxygen! Roll on saturday night!!

I think everyone would agree that both venues are better than the Syndicate. Not been to Oxygen for a long time. Going to a birthday party the same night, but might get away in time!

Lakota is not shutting...... They have just signed a two year contract n as said have painted the outside and inside the venue, they also have replaced the toilet seats with proper soft, comfy ones:) I love Lakota to the max n it has got that underground, united feel about the place.

Carling Academy I've only attended twice, last time was the last Oxygen! Give Oxygen some credit for moving to such a big venue! Every event in a new venue experiences teething problems n I'm sure this has been noted and will be sorted in time for Sat:)

I kinda think it's all about the atmosphere not the venue that counts, although certain things help to achieve that awsome vibe!!

The atmosphere is what counts ,well looking forwards to saturday,never been there before. defo need to be able to get outside to chill and have a fag, why do you feel you cant do that out there?

You can. There is nothing stopping you going out there to chill out.
Yes it sometimes gets a little busy but never too busy that it is uncomfortable.

Outside is good! Apart from that Hench woman on the door who's out for everyone lol
