What a night
I'm having real difficulty deciding which set was best, can't decide between ultrabeat, sy, scott brown, squad-e or recon?? Oh yeah hang on, none of them were there. What a load of shite, what the fuck are you playing at oxygen?!?! First you move to the o2 becuase ur getting 'bigger', the empty dancefloor did a good job of proving that was bullshit. Why didnt you stick to lakota where the night at least looked busy. Then u screw us around with a 4am finish, if my eyesight is ok it looked like a 5am finish on the flyer, and even on the set list which was posted inside the o2. In lakota we could have rocked it till 6am. And seriously what is the deal with 5 DJs not turning up?! One or two, fair play, shit happens, but 5 is a fucking joke and quite clearly must be down to the promoters. All the other oxygens have been wicked, how has this shit happened?
Full respect to all the djs that were there, top quality sets all round, but that's not the point...

ill be the first to say, the djs just didnt turn up it was lack of tickt sales........... if people bought tickets they would have been there.... but wen nites are on the same week as west fest its hard to battle......i had a good nite but i can see why sum people would be mardy........................... but i think all djs and mcs had good sets..... they done as well as they could with wat they could..... safe.

a week after Westfest is just suicide, not being funny but it just is. plus this weekend just gone had 2 other raves on, Hindsight Torquay and Bionic in Newport so it was gonna be split between those 3...

as h20 said, ticket sales were down hence why shit loads of artists got cancelled which leads in the end into a catch 22 situation, 1. cancel djs and save shit loads of money to cushion the loss but at the same time damage the brand due to 'no shows' and unhappy ravers. or 2 let the night roll and have a night where all the acts on the flyer play and everyone leaves happy, the brand stays in tact but could be thousands down...

its a tough one to call. I know what I would do if shit hit the fan in this situation and I think that the oxygen boys did the right thing by doing what they did but on the back end of all the sound issues on the previous event and pulling 400 to this in a venue that needs 700 to look busy so who knows what will happen next...

as discussed on a previous thread between the O2 vs Lakota in Bristol I will have to be biased and say Lakota. Its Underground, Intimate and when done right is the BEST venue in the South West. Bonkers is looking PHAT in 2 weeks ticket sales are high. dont go to a club.. come to a party !

So why bother putting oxygen on the week after westfest? This isnt the first time oxygen has messed up either, I remember that event at lakota where they claimed they were going to have fair rides outside and we were all given a letter apologising about that and also the fact that breeze and whizzkid couldn't make it. They shouldn't be making promises they can't deliver imo, why not just have a smaller line up in the first place. Ravers are blows oxygen out of the water, can't wait for bonkers!!

My sentiments exactly, at least then we'd have seen who we paid to see. Anyway rant over, still had a wicked night. Dougal and Joey riot absolutely smashed it!

Hell yes!! dougal saved the night a little bit for me! and joey riot always kicks it!
i was sat down and tbh fed up most of the night! i liked the fact it wasnt too busy cos it was kinda a rave to ourselves then!! but it should of been done at lakota for a bit cheaper, im pissed off i paid £22 for sod all dj's! but fuck it!! united in hardcore till we dieeee!
