After a blinder last month with Erol Alkan and Switch in collaboration with Blowpop, Giant Robot returns to the scene of most of our crimes with a special third birthday partay at everyone's favourite grotty rave pit - The Cooler. This is the last weekend before it's closed for a refurb, so we're going to save Ian the manager a few quid by doing the demolition for him with an apocalyptic rave-off of frightening proportions. Special guest is "the new Vitalic", John Lord Fonda, playing live. This Frenchie's album 'Debaser' has been getting love in all the right places, particularly the Robot dancefloor, so we're very proud to host his Bristol debut. Signed to Vitalic's Citizen Records, he's got all the gigantic rave synth nous of his colleague as well as a sharply melodic side. Tracks like the Depeche Mode cover 'Personal Jesus' and the new 12" 'So Far Away' have been turning heads from Funk D'Void to Alan Braxe, showcasing his distinctive brand of techno and electro to perfection. In support, the full Robot resident crew, Puffin Jack (Mutant Pop/Tape) giving Replay Park St the send-off it deserves, some very special guests and live visuals, lasers, a monstrous extra soundsystem and a very special mirrorball glam-rave theme with a prize for the best dressed.
