Wow, seven years of fighting the good fight, mixing it up and following our plan to bring a little bit of joy and joviality back to the sometimes moody dance floors of club land. PLAY! emerged blinking into the light via the amazing group of friends we have in Bristol, with whom we spent far to many lost weekends, cocking around, dressing up and inventing ridiculous games to amuse and embarrass each other.

Seven years ago we decided to emerge from the closed curtains of our collective rave pads and put on a night where we would let it all hang out and do everything we could to ensure people could cut loose, experiment and interact and take their inner child out for a bit of a knees up. Thus PLAY! was born; a chance to dissolve the boundaries between people, be they gay or straight, introvert or extrovert, rave veterans or fresh faced newcomers.

Over the years we’ve had it all, countless ridiculous themed events with the fancy dress box filled to overflowing, sock puppet theater, the PLAY! sports day (rained off), the Tiny Bike Challenge, Ross, Ed and his Pegs, the great beach ball disaster, Rag’s onstage mop crop, the great Thekla stage invasion and of course some of the most amazing DJ's ever brought to our home town.

Of course things have changed over the years, clubland has emerged from it’s po faced hibernation of fun, and walking around covered in face paint wearing an old ladies dressing gown is now the norm. Hopefully we had a little bit to do with that, but we know in our heart of hearts that it’s all about our lovely Play! punters. We DJ all over the world at the most amazing parties, and the atmosphere is never close to what Bristol delivers - rock on and be a happy twat!
