under_score are very proud to present Berlin based house, techno and dub operator Deadbeat (aka Scott Monteith) for a special live show. Scott will be showcasing tracks from his forthcoming album "Roots and Wire", set to drop on Wagon Repair later this year. This appearance in Bristol will be his only UK date outside of London before he continues his world tour.

Originally from Canada, Scott has been releasing his own special blend of dub inspired dance music since 2000, for esteemed labels such as Wagon Repair, Cynosure, Musique Risquée, ~scape, Spectral Sound and Echochord. His work has been met with acclaim by djs, dancefloors and music hacks alike, and following a stream of bookings - which have seen him playing world famous clubs like Panorama Bar and Fabric, and festivals like Sonar, Transmediale and Mutek - it seemed natural that he relocate to Berlin, the current global hub of house and techno music.

His recent tracks have effortlessly encapsulated the relentless bump and groove of contemporary minimal house, while retaining the satisfying bassweight and advanced spatial machinations of his more dub/dancehall orientated tracks. The new album has been influenced by his creative relationship with Wagon Repair (home of The Mole and Mathew Jonson) as well as collaborations with Robert Henke (aka Monolake) and Paul St Hilaire (aka Tikiman). An uncanny logic is present throughout "Roots and Wire", which weaves together a fluid, futuristic and floor friendly narrative from a diverse set of influences.

In support we are proud to present Peverelist (aka Tom Ford) who has gone from being a face behind the counter at Rooted Records to being one of Bristol's most in demand djs and producers. Taking reference points from jungle, techno, electronica, and dubstep, his records have received support from techno djs like Luciano, Craig Richards and Surgeon as well as key players on the dubstep scene. A remix for ~scape, a collaboration with Appleblim on the excellent Skull Disco label, the release of "Infinity Is Now" for Dj Pinch's Tectonic and a string of acclaimed releases on his own Punch Drunk imprint has made this a golden year for the Peverelist. Expect a set of the kind of advanced dubstep that will be keeping Bristol centre stage in 2009.

In support we have a selection of Bristol's finest techno djs; Jim Petherwick, Placid, and Luke Malcher spinning the hottest electronic sounds around.
