ANDY MOOR

Ask any leading electronic musician or production and DJ following fan, which artists are synonymous with all that’s good in today and tomorrow’s scene and one of the names you’ll be given is Andy Moor.

From learning his first piano piece at the age of five to mastering six musical instruments by the age of ten, to spinning his first record at the age of thirteen onto rocking the worlds leading festivals in front of tens of thousands of people by the age of twenty one.

A mixture of hard work, determination and raw talent has catapulted Andy to the status as one of the most definitive and influential artists in dance music today, although to pigeonhole Andy to one genre of music would be a crime in itself.

Andy Moor is a born musician, and as with any truly world class musician they can turn their hand to produce the epitome of ‘amazing’ in any musical genre they so desire. Even more impressive is Andy’s ability to create tracks which cross genres, and can play as equally an important part in a Sasha or Digweed set as to that of Tiesto or Paul Oakenfold.

Still only at the age of twenty-five, the UK based musician forms one half of melodic progressive house act Leama & Moor, a third of the legendary Tilt and half of 2004 trance act of the year Whiteroom whilst his solo productions stand equally accountable.

The impressive list of artists to receive the Andy Moor remix touch include Britney Spears, Avril Lavigne, Paul Oakenfold, Brian Eno, Tiesto and Arthur Baker to name but a few and as his tracks add colour to club charts across the world, recent times have seen Andy accumulate an impressive accolade of awards and an ever growing global fan base.

Whilst Andy’s addition to the legendary Tilt act has culminated in the highly acclaimed ‘Explorer’ album, of which the first release ‘The World Doesn’t Know’ received global airplay and critical acclaim from DJs and music fans alike, his co production work as Leama & Moor on remixes including Nelly Furtado, Orbital, Starkid and Tiesto have created a phenomenon for their unique cross genre sound, making them one of the most in demand remix teams.

Andy’s debut co-production under the Whiteroom alias, also of the same name, was hailed by Armin Van Buuren and Above & Beyond as the best trance production of 2004 with further confirmation when they picked up ‘Best Production’ at the 2005 Trance Awards.

Andy’s collaboration with Above & Beyond ‘Air for Life’ provided one of the most highly supported trance tracks of 2005 and his solo production ‘Halcyon’, released on Armin’s Armada imprint has seen comparable success.

As a DJ, Andy provides the weekend soundtrack to many of the world’s most prolific parties and festivals taking his own version of modern day dance music and pushing boundaries with his flawless technical ability and dedicated ear for uncompromising musical set structure.

And it is as a solo DJ where the Andy Moor experience is best seen and heard. Bringing together all his influences culminating in a mixture of beautifully crafted electronic dance music it’s not surprising that whilst fresh international demand surpasses the logistical ability of one man, it is the demand for ‘more Moor’ from the promoters and clubbers whose booths Andy has already graced which eclipse that of your ‘good’ international DJ.

Whilst remaining a regular feature across Eastern Europe at leading events in Hungary, Lithuania, Slovakia and The Ukraine, regular air mile accumulators to China, Singapore, Russia, Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia, Canada and the USA along with closer to home performances in Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Turkey and of course his native UK have allowed Andy to reach many of his truly global fan base.

But it certainly doesn’t stop there. As Andy puts the finishing touches to the well anticipated debut Leama & Moor album and works on his debut solo artist album the weekend is spent entertaining his much appreciated and loyal fans, and in typically modest Andy Moor style he remains equally committed to splitting his DJ schedule between his long time followers and his many new found friends.

Whether you’ve bought the records or the albums, seen the live act or DJ performances or purely heard the name on the grapevine you can be sure you’re going to see much much more of Andy Moor.

JIM RIVERS

Jim has been bubbling on the Bristol scene for the last few years, slowly gaining a reputation for his ability behind the decks and being the ‘nicest bloke in Bristol house music’!

Along with his DJing Jim has been steadily carving a sound of his own with his own original productions and edits.  2005 saw his first break through with his first two tracks, ‘Future’ and ‘Restore’ being signed to Satoshi Tomiie’s Saw Recordings imprint, one of the most respected labels in the scene.  It was a good break, considering it started with a cheeky email to Satoshi telling him he needed the music on his label!

Satoshi then used both tracks on his acclaimed Renaissance Compilation – 3D – and the album and Jim’s tracks have already received critical acclaim from the dance music press.  The ‘Restore EP’ is due out on May 30th…

2006 has continued to go Jim’s way.  In January Nic Fancuilli signed Jim’s warm tech houser, ‘Catch 22’, to his Saved label.  The label has already featured Pete Tong, James Talk, Audiofly, Shafunkers and the Buik Project.  This track has had some great early support with some of the biggest DJ’s in the world playing the record – Sasha, John Digweed, Lee Burridge, Nic Fancuilli, Satoshi Tomiie, Greg Vickers, The Flash Brothers and Hector Romero to name a few.  With Nic himself working on the remix this track looks set to put Jim’s name firmly on the map.  Watch out for this at the end of April…

Most recently, Jim has signed his ‘Square Route EP’ to EQ another top label in the scene.  Again they have some heavyweights on there books including Sander Kleinenberg and Meat Katie, as well as new comers PJ Davy and Jon Gurd.

With none of his music even released yet the future is looking very bright for this talented DJ and producer.  And that is one of the important things – Jim is a DJ first, not a producer trying to earn a quick buck.  His residency at Empathy proves that as well as his growing reputation as one to watch in 2006.

Jim makes his debut at LOCO in May and this is one DJ you can’t afford to miss…

JOE HART
Joe Hart is a dj that we have heard people talking about since Loco began, after recently witnessing his sets, there is no doubt that this is one of Bristols most underated djs - this guy is absolutely gonna rock the back room!! Joe plays electro, bass and disco like its never going out of fashion. He's a resident of the Baslelogic run 'Bloc' in Brighton but can also be seen playing all over the shop..
