What a party we have in store this month...first up in the main room we welcome back the mighty Bobkat. Bobkat are matt and Marcus, their night housework is one of the best in the country and they have become firm favourites with the Chicago crowd. We will also be celebrating Funky Onions 10th Birthday as they host the second room. Funky onion are the ever so nice Joe and Dave. The onions began their night in 97' in the basement of the rummer. They were only going to do two parties but they were so well attended that they decided to run them fortnightly. The rummer closed in 99' and the boys moved shop to Maze ( formerly loco ). Another of Bristols true underground clubs which has long since closed. Here they cemented their reputation for putting on kick ass parties, with guests such as the then relatively unknown Joey Negro and Groove armada. When maze closed the boys were once again on the move, this time to the newly opened Bar Latino. Here they stayed, for 6 years providing the top quality funky grooves and happy vibe that everyone associates with a funky onion night. When Latinos closed in 2005 ( can anyone spot a worrying trend developing here) Joe and Dave took up a more low key residency at the elbow rooms, where they remain. They are also our residents at Chicago and we are very pleased to have them. So expect to see lots and lots of old faces ( as well as new ) out for this one, as many of the origonal onion crowd dust off their clubbing gear and book babysitters for what promises to be one hell of a party. There will be lots of 10th birthday CD giveaways and Dave on the drums!!, cant wait to see that..
