ASHTON COURT AFTER PARTY...
The Electroquisite 2007 'Neon Series' continues on Saturday 14th July as we return to the subterranean surrounds of Bristol's best venue Timbuk2 for our monthly residency.
After a quite remarkable event in June which saw Sebastien Leger make his Bristol debut, we now proceed with the 6th of 10 colour-coded events throughout 2007, showcasing some of the most exciting, influential & talked about Dj's, artists & producers from across the Globe.
For the 6th event of the series, GREEN, we present a special Ashton Court follow-on and to celebrate we it gives us great pleasure in presenting one of the most exciting discoveries to emerge over the last 12 months, ARNO COST (Cr2 Paris).
Biography
At just 20 years old, the last year has no doubt been a bit of a whirlwind ride for this young & exciting Parisian talent. Discovered by Mathieu Bouthier of Serial Records in January 2006, Arno achieved almost immediate success with the release of the track 'Let U Go', produced alongside friends Norman Doray (the producer of Jetlag) and Pierre de la Touche, with much airplay on French radio and international support from the likes of Antoine Clamaran, Hoxton Whores, Ben Macklin and Narcotic Trust, amongst others...
Later in the year, Arno's remix of Geyster's "Under The Fuse of Love" brought him to the attention of one of the UK's most influential figures, Pete Tong, who championed the track on his Essential Mix show repeatedly, a fact that no doubt helped it reach 2nd in the UK Club Charts; a position it held for several weeks. However, it was toward the end of last year, following the release of the quite phonomenal "Magenta", that Arno became a name on the lips of almost every major player in the house music world.
Composed with fellow French starlet Arias, Magenta was and still is a track years ahead of it's time. First signed to Bouthier's Serial Records, it was soon snapped up by the much respected European Kontor label, and having cemented itself as one of the biggest tracks of the 'Amsterdam Dance Event', it wasn't long before inevitably being signed by the major CR2 Records.
Support came by the way of the biggest in the business; Pete Tong, Bob Sinclar, Tom Novy, Ian Carey & Sebastian Ingrosso were just a few of the artists using the track as the pinnacle of their sets, and the likes of Dave Spoon & Tom Novy taking on the remixing duties.
Now, 6 months on, Magenta continues to be a track heard in nightclubs & across dancefloors all over the UK & beyond, with the crowd reaction seeming to increase rather than depleat each & every time... a testiment to the true magnificence of this outstanding piece of music.
Currently, Arno's remix of Nicole Otero's "Sunshine Song" is another track receiving huge attention following a sustained stint at the top of DMC Buzz Chart and numerous plays on Radio 1 from the likes of Pete tong, The Trophies & Annie Mac amongst others.... and with a whole host of productions & remixes in the pipeline, it is clear that Arno's profile is set to grow, making his a name we're all very likely to hear a lot more in coming years!!
In the meantime however, Arno comes to EQ where he not only gives his first performance in Bristol, but also makes his UK DJ debut... a fact that we feel privileged to be able to be able to state.
Joining Arno in Room 1 will be Electroquisite residents Luke Langson, Alex Clark & the huge UK electro talent that is Will Bailey (Toolroom Records)... quite simply guaranteeing some of the most absorbing music you could ever wish to hear.
Room 2 provides some variation with a slightly funkier vibe courtesy of Nathan Thomson, Dave Carter & James Lewis, making sure there's something for everyone's preference.
This is the perfect way to follow-on from the antics of Ashton Court people!!
