The Electroquisite 2007 'Neon Series' draws to a conclusion on Saturday 10th November as we return once more to the subterranean surrounds of Bristol's best underground nightclub Timbuk2 for our monthly residency.
We feel proud to be able to look back at what has been a truly amazing series of events, that have featured the cream of the Worldwide house music scene. However, we're not finished just yet and we fully intend to see things off in style... and who better to help us do that than one of the industry's most renowned party animals!!
For this, the 10th & final event of the series, AQUAMARINE, we have great pleasure in welcoming back to Bristol one of the most highly respected international production artists in the world today... MARTIJN TEN VELDEN (Toolroom/Splttr).
Biography
Martijn 'ten out of ten' Velden, 'the Man of the Moment', has by now established himself as a leading DJ/producer on a global level.
His innovative and ever changing productions and remixes have been topping dance charts for years and have earned him the respect from jocks like Roger Sanchez, Deep Dish and Steve Lawler. So it comes as no surprise that Martijn was nominated for 'Best Artist' and 'Outstanding Remix' at last year's House Music Awards.
Martijn now plays his deep and twisted electro house sets to crowds all over the world. Renaissance in London, Redlight in Paris, Peppermint in Dubai, Godskitchen and M.O.S. are just some of the places you can find Martijn playing or a regular basis.
Martijn must be one of the most enthusiastic DJs out there and was noted by Cooljunkie for his energy '..he smiles, he dances and sends out this vibe like he knows what you're feeling while he spins, he's in total harmony with the crowd'
With a renowned background in hip hop and funk, Martijn has crafted his own recognisable sound which is undeniably funky yet tribal with electro overtones. As one major fan put it 'bye bye soulful house, welcome to the dark side, shamone motherf****rs!
Keen to keep his name in the headlines, Martijn now spends most of his time working on solo productions and remixes, with some exciting collaborations planned later in the year.. watch this space.
Joining Martijn in Room 1 will as ever be Electroquisite residents Luke Langson, Alex Clark & the huge UK electro talent that is Will Bailey (Twocker/Data Recordings)... With over 30 years experience between them, and having been behind some of the best nights Bristol has had to offer over the last 10 years, the promise of the most absorbing, beautifully crafted displays behind the decks is quite simply guaranteed.
Room 2 provides some variation to the main courtesy of Andy Kelly, Tom & Rich Brown, and Clinton Brown, making sure there's something for everyone's preference.
